Arise....

I woke up today with a spring in my step. Not that I don't do that always. Today was just different. I had a knowing within that things were working for my good. As we go through the adventure called life we need to fight discouragements always. Many things seek to discourage the journey of life but an attitude of joy, a mentality of an overcomer, a desire to learn as you walk through the adventure called life and maintaining relationships that are positive will help empower one to go over.

This acronym was the thought I woke up with us I thought about the bible reading adventure. Another way of looking at DISCOURAGEMENT when the task seems impossible.

D-Discoveries: new positive discoveries in life will produce a lift in life. Just imagine how the Wright brothers felt when they discovered they could fly.
I-Inspiration: What inspires you? When facing discouragement listen to someone who inspires you. Listen to uplifting music or words.
S-Stillness: Be still and know that God is in control. This is one of the hardest things to do in a world that is simply fast paced. Finding time to be still in life will help keep you focused in the midst of turmoil.
C-Courage: Great people are courageous in all their undertakings.
O-Observant: Successful people are willing to pay attention to the facts of life that bring about success. Success is not by chance. Observe what causes you failure or discouragement and begin again. Observant people are willing to learn the lessons. Learn from the experience of others as this will help quicken your journey of life.
U-Understanding: What you don't understand may be lethal!! Understanding is the bridge between having knowledge and being wise. Seek to understand the principles of success that may bring about change in you.
R-Read: Success is closer to those who choose to study. Read, read, and read more. An actively studious mind is a successful mind.A friend told me today that we must study to be steady.
A-Addiction: What are you addict to? Be addicted to good and discouragement will soon have an enemy in you.
G-Gratitude: Many times when we are discouraged we push allow ingratitude into our lives. Grateful people are gracious in everything even when defeat knocks they appreciate the little.
E-Establish: Establish a foundation of steadiness in your life. Many times we are discouraged because we have not established within our lives a good foundation that enables us to succeed. Check your foundation? Your thinking displays your foundational pillars that are your make up.
M-Mind: What do you keep in your mind? What you feed your mind with will soon be on display to the world. You are a product of your thoughts. Check the state of your mind. What you focus on will either encourage or discourage you.Look for the positives and you will soon discover that discouragement is far from you.
E-Expectations: Check your expectations. Am troubled by the fact that many times people do not have great expectations about life. A poverty mentality never expects much of life. When your expectations are not managed well you soon have another visitor called depression knocking on your door. Have great expectations, believe the best, even in pain knowing that you will soon be smiling with joy.
N-Nurture: What you nurture in your mind will soon be your nature? Think wrong and life will soon be wrong. Think right and life irrespective of the hurdles will soon be right. Before the light bulb was made Thomas Edison is said to have tried it thousands of times. Guess what he did his experiments during a recession. He refused to let the environment control his nature but nurtured a resilient mindset that soon gave nature a light bulb.
T-Title: Your identity in life is your title. Discouraged people can titled or labelled as complainers. Don't allow life to title you what you are not. You are more than what life may be dishing out to you. Think great thoughts. You will travel towards your greatest and most predominant thoughts.

Now is....

Everyday I seek to share something that I have learnt through the daily reading. I make a choice to discipline myself not to write too much as we inundated with a lot of reading material. Feel free to add comments because that way we share and thus encourage one another to grow into the fullness of Christ. Today I am amazed at the fact that God will always remember His covenant and fulfill the promise. I want to list five words in the order they appear in one scripture that showed God is at work in our lives. Remembered : My God will never forget me. To be delayed is not to be denied as God will surely remember. God spoke and said to Sarah that He would return at the appointed time; at the right season!!! I do believe that we are in a season where we will see God begin to act on the promises that seem forgotten. Or better put in another way there is a resurrection of seemingly forgotten prophecies that is about to take place. Dry bones are beginning to take shape. Listened : No longer

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than

Dont Go Back to Egypt

Day 207 Reading: Jeremiah 42:1 - Jeremiah 45:5 When life's blows strike us our response matters more than we realise. Many believers today are in a place of bewilderment because life has dealt blows that have knocked the wind out of them. As a result, many are questioning whether God is still God. Reading the Book of Jeremiah I have been encouraged to trust in God at all times.  The remnant children of Israel upon seeing the King of Babylon conquer them asked Jeremiah to seek the mind of God regarding their desire to go to Egypt. The same pattern of thinking that their forefathers had in saying let's go back to Egypt was on display generations after. Many people don't realise the importance of right thinking. God delivered the children of Israel out of Egypt, to desire to go there for safety is a smack to God in the face! When faced with trouble don't allow the thinking of God helps those who help themselves send you to Egypt. It's a death trap! Man
