Genesis...The Foundation

Today we complete the first book in the bible, Genesis. This book of beginnings lays a foundation for the plan of God. In this book we learn of God's desire for fellowship. We are introduced to a God who is not far away from humanity but who is desirous of our interaction with Him on a continual basis. Genesis not only introduces but also lays a foundation for our faith in God.

In Genesis we learn that God is a Creator. His power is unlimited towards solving issues .We also learn that He is the All Sufficient One; The Lord our Provider. We have also seen Him lay a foundation for the salvation of mankind. Genesis is a colourful story of the happenings that lay a foundation for God's desire to have a people who love Him He is not just in heaven but He shows Himself as the God of continuity. He establishes Himself as the one who is Able as nothing is too hard for Him. He makes it clear that we should place our trust in no one but Him alone as He is our Shield.

We see that whenever one chose to follow God and abide by His principles there extended a blessing that was over and above the norm. Look at Enoch, he walked with God so much that God just decided to snatch him. There was no time to die like everyone else. Noah found grace in a time of judgement as he walked with God. Abraham was called a friend when God was about judge Sodom. Isaac prospered in the place that God had ordained for him so much so that a king and his top general came to pay homage. Jacob was conned his salary 10 times but yet the one who conned him said that the only reason he prospered was because of Jacob. Imagine a conman appreciating that the only reason they have prospered is because the can see God with you. Joseph stepped in Pharaoh court and not only gave an interpretation but gave counsel that set him above everyone else. Genesis clearly shows one thing that if you choose God's way you will be over and above the rest. As you go about your day to day chores, as you proceed with your career path, as you step into your home, business, marriage my prayer is that you will walk with God. No one has ever walked with God and failed.

Now is....

Everyday I seek to share something that I have learnt through the daily reading. I make a choice to discipline myself not to write too much as we inundated with a lot of reading material. Feel free to add comments because that way we share and thus encourage one another to grow into the fullness of Christ. Today I am amazed at the fact that God will always remember His covenant and fulfill the promise. I want to list five words in the order they appear in one scripture that showed God is at work in our lives. Remembered : My God will never forget me. To be delayed is not to be denied as God will surely remember. God spoke and said to Sarah that He would return at the appointed time; at the right season!!! I do believe that we are in a season where we will see God begin to act on the promises that seem forgotten. Or better put in another way there is a resurrection of seemingly forgotten prophecies that is about to take place. Dry bones are beginning to take shape. Listened : No longer

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than

Dont Go Back to Egypt

Day 207 Reading: Jeremiah 42:1 - Jeremiah 45:5 When life's blows strike us our response matters more than we realise. Many believers today are in a place of bewilderment because life has dealt blows that have knocked the wind out of them. As a result, many are questioning whether God is still God. Reading the Book of Jeremiah I have been encouraged to trust in God at all times.  The remnant children of Israel upon seeing the King of Babylon conquer them asked Jeremiah to seek the mind of God regarding their desire to go to Egypt. The same pattern of thinking that their forefathers had in saying let's go back to Egypt was on display generations after. Many people don't realise the importance of right thinking. God delivered the children of Israel out of Egypt, to desire to go there for safety is a smack to God in the face! When faced with trouble don't allow the thinking of God helps those who help themselves send you to Egypt. It's a death trap! Man
