Day 199
Reading: Jeremiah 12:1 - Jeremiah 14:22
In business, the entrepreneur seeks to maximise revenue against low expenses to make a decent profit. The way in which investors seek information about a company they have invested in is an example of how God also looks at us to see where His investment in us is going. A shareholder will not be paid a dividend if the profits in the company are not good. The share price also gets affected fluctuating with the performance and the perceived future of a company. God has shares in us and we have a responsibility as the CEO's of our lives to run profitably to the glory of God.
Jeremiah is asked not to pray for his nation by God. The reason was that the people had forsaken God. God stated that the people of Israel were not profitable people. God had invested much in them however they didn't give Him any returns. The land He gave them they had polluted it with idolatry and the people had forsaken Him. This is the state of many today. A state where God is remembered at birth, at a wedding and at a funeral. Today God sent me to ask you are you profitable to Him?
Can God, the Almighty, look at you and boast of you like He did of Job? God looked at Job and saw a man in whom His investment brought awesome returns. Can God see that His investment in you has matured that He now sends a prophet to announce your appointment to the throne because He sees great potential in His returns not just His investment in you? Would Jehovah count you as among those who are His because you are sold out to ensuring that His investment in you has great returns? Would God look at you and say that your decisions are leading you to greater places? Shareholders want to know if a company will continue making great returns. No one wants to invest in a company that will not make a profit. Why should God invest in you any further if you have not made any profits?
God is a God of mercy and no matter where you are He is willing to set you up for profitable returns. The condition is that you must walk in obedience to Him. May God by His mercy pluck you from the enemies terrain and plant you in your place of His planting where you will bring profit to Him. God desires that you be known as His for renown, praise and for glory.
Memory Verse: Jeremiah 14:20-21
Decree:
Jeremiah 14:20-21
We acknowledge, O Lord, our wickedness and the iniquity of our fathers, for we have sinned against You. Do not abhor us, for Your name’s sake; do not disgrace the throne of Your glory. Remember, do not break Your covenant with us. (italics mine)
