God's Word Stands Forever

Day 206

Reading: Jeremiah 38:1 - Jeremiah 41:18

Many people are fighting with discouragement daily more than any other time in history. The increase in depression and many other mental maladies that are plaguing the world. One cause of concern for many believers is that the promises of the Bible don't seem to be alive for them. For many, it appears that God is not there or concerned about their affairs. Reading the Book of Jeremiah I have asked myself what Jeremiah must have felt as he declared the word of God and yet saw no change.

Jeremiah not only saw the people not listen to him, but he was sent to prison. Many believers today are like Jeremiah. Declaring the word and yet being mocked by the world. Many believers are struggling with their faith because they don't seem to see the reality of the promise of God. Jeremiah was mocked by the people he was sent to. Jeremiah was spat at, thrown into a dungeon sent to prison and even the king could do nothing about it. Sometimes serving God is a test of commitment and boldness to keep standing even when nothing seems to be working.

Jeremiah kept warning the people of the coming judgement. Oh, how we need such people today to warn the believers of the coming judgement. Many today have forgotten that earth is a not the destination. Many more have forgotten who God is. They have mocked God by sowing seeds of carnality and lived lives that are not spiritually attuned to that which God desires. Many today live life without any sense of God's purpose. Many will discover on Judgement day that their lives were half-baked.

When Nebuchadnezzar stream rolled into Jerusalem and overthrown the King of Judah, Zedekiah, Jeremiah was in prison. Jeremiah had been imprisoned by the princes for declaring that Nebuchadnezzar would conquer Jerusalem. The princes who imprisoned Jeremiah were killed and the king had his eyes removed without painkillers. Nebuchadnezzar then gives a command that Jeremiah be set free and given the liberty to chose where he wanted to go. The Governor that was placed by Nebuchadnezzar was instructed to look after Jeremiah. A king who didn't know God perceived that Jeremiah was different and honoured him.  Every believer being mocked by those who should know God will be appreciated and honoured as God executes His judgement.

Hold onto the Word of God. Keep declaring the word because you will walk free from the prison that has held you hostage. God will always perform His word. God's Word will stand forever and circumstances have no say to the manifestation of the promise. Don't allow circumstances to determine whether God's word is coming to pass. Hold onto the Word of God and know that His promise is forever sure.

Memory Verse: Jeremiah 39:15

Decree:

Jeremiah 39:18
For I will surely deliver you, and you shall not fall by the sword; but your life shall be as a prize to you, because you have put your trust in Me,” says the Lord.’ ” (italics mine)

Now is....

Everyday I seek to share something that I have learnt through the daily reading. I make a choice to discipline myself not to write too much as we inundated with a lot of reading material. Feel free to add comments because that way we share and thus encourage one another to grow into the fullness of Christ. Today I am amazed at the fact that God will always remember His covenant and fulfill the promise. I want to list five words in the order they appear in one scripture that showed God is at work in our lives. Remembered : My God will never forget me. To be delayed is not to be denied as God will surely remember. God spoke and said to Sarah that He would return at the appointed time; at the right season!!! I do believe that we are in a season where we will see God begin to act on the promises that seem forgotten. Or better put in another way there is a resurrection of seemingly forgotten prophecies that is about to take place. Dry bones are beginning to take shape. Listened : No longer

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than

Dont Go Back to Egypt

Day 207 Reading: Jeremiah 42:1 - Jeremiah 45:5 When life's blows strike us our response matters more than we realise. Many believers today are in a place of bewilderment because life has dealt blows that have knocked the wind out of them. As a result, many are questioning whether God is still God. Reading the Book of Jeremiah I have been encouraged to trust in God at all times.  The remnant children of Israel upon seeing the King of Babylon conquer them asked Jeremiah to seek the mind of God regarding their desire to go to Egypt. The same pattern of thinking that their forefathers had in saying let's go back to Egypt was on display generations after. Many people don't realise the importance of right thinking. God delivered the children of Israel out of Egypt, to desire to go there for safety is a smack to God in the face! When faced with trouble don't allow the thinking of God helps those who help themselves send you to Egypt. It's a death trap! Man
