P.R.O.M.I.S.E.S

Day 192

Reading: Isaiah 54:1 - Isaiah 57:21

As I read the Bible I am amazed at God's love for me. When I study the Bible I look for the promises of God. I don't just look for the stories and the underlying issues so as to learn the ways of God. I also seek to learn the promises of God. They reveal His nature. As I meditated on what to share today I heard this acronym: P.R.O.M.I.S.E.S.

P - Peace. Every promise when activated in alignment with what God has ordained it releases the peace of God. No matter the situation, the promise of God unlocks the door of peace in one's life.

R- Right. Every promise of God is the right of the believer. Take every promise as being your divine right to the inheritance you have as God's child. Don't view any promise as for some and not you. No, view every promise as yours by the rights bestowed to you by being a child of God.

O- Obedience. Every promise has a condition attached to it that when adhered to releases the manifestation of the promise. Make the choice to obey to God to see His promises become real in your life.

M- Might of God. Every promise releases the power of God. Every promise reveals the power of God over creation. Activating the promise of God in one's life releases the inherent power of God to do the supernatural that changes our situation.

I- Inspiring. God's promises are inspiring. They inspire one to rise above the circumstances that are seeking to devour you. The promises of God are a call to action that inspires you to take up your arms and wait on God. The promise inspires you to be still even when the storm is raging for you know that God is in charge.

S- Seek God. The promises of God challenge you to seek God more than ever. We cannot live without seeking God. Damned is the person who doesn't seek God. Seek God to see His promises come alive.

E- Endurance. The promises of God give you the courage to endure while standing on the promise of God. Life is not a sprint but a marathon that requires endurance to succeed. It's not how fast you start but how you manage your entire journey so as to finish strong. Many start well and finish poorly. God desires that we start and finish well.

S- Shelter. The promises of God are a shelter against the attacks of the enemy. Take the promises of God as an insurance policy from every circumstance or challenge you face in life. God has provided shelter for you and me in His promises.

Memory Verse: Isaiah 55:10-11

Decree:

Isaiah 57:19
“I create the fruit of the lips: Peace, peace to him who is far off and to him who is near,” Says the Lord, “and I will heal him.”(italics mine)

Now is....

Everyday I seek to share something that I have learnt through the daily reading. I make a choice to discipline myself not to write too much as we inundated with a lot of reading material. Feel free to add comments because that way we share and thus encourage one another to grow into the fullness of Christ. Today I am amazed at the fact that God will always remember His covenant and fulfill the promise. I want to list five words in the order they appear in one scripture that showed God is at work in our lives. Remembered : My God will never forget me. To be delayed is not to be denied as God will surely remember. God spoke and said to Sarah that He would return at the appointed time; at the right season!!! I do believe that we are in a season where we will see God begin to act on the promises that seem forgotten. Or better put in another way there is a resurrection of seemingly forgotten prophecies that is about to take place. Dry bones are beginning to take shape. Listened : No longer

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than

Dont Go Back to Egypt

Day 207 Reading: Jeremiah 42:1 - Jeremiah 45:5 When life's blows strike us our response matters more than we realise. Many believers today are in a place of bewilderment because life has dealt blows that have knocked the wind out of them. As a result, many are questioning whether God is still God. Reading the Book of Jeremiah I have been encouraged to trust in God at all times.  The remnant children of Israel upon seeing the King of Babylon conquer them asked Jeremiah to seek the mind of God regarding their desire to go to Egypt. The same pattern of thinking that their forefathers had in saying let's go back to Egypt was on display generations after. Many people don't realise the importance of right thinking. God delivered the children of Israel out of Egypt, to desire to go there for safety is a smack to God in the face! When faced with trouble don't allow the thinking of God helps those who help themselves send you to Egypt. It's a death trap! Man
