God's Word Fulfilled

Day 108

Reading: 2 Kings 9:1 - 2 Kings 11:21

Many people will want to know how they can see the promises of God fulfilled in their lives. One of the biggest frustrations I find amongst believers, me included,  is many suffer from unfulfilled promises. Too many are fatigued wondering why the promises are taking longer to come to pass. These frustrations and stagnation in life have caused many to lose faith in God. However, don't fuzz your blessing by thinking that delay is denial. God's word can never fail. His Word is guaranteed to come to pass. Learn to remind yourself of the times God's Word has come to pass.

Elijah was given instructions by God when he fled to the cave in Horeb after the threats of Jezebel. After the encounter where God speaks to him with a still small voice, he received instructions to anoint three people. Elijah was to anoint Jehu as King of Israel, Hazael as King of Syria and Elisha as his successor. Elijah anointed Elisha as his successor immediately he left the cave 1 Kings 19

Elisha took on fulfilling the mandate to anoint Hazael and Jehu after Elijah was raptured to heaven. It would have been easy to say that the Word of God was not going to be fulfilled but God used a different person to fulfil His instructions. This doesn't mean that Elijah disobeyed. It shows that God's servants have a responsibility to help fulfil the mandate of those who have gone ahead. One of the biggest challenges we have today is that many don't want to follow even though they want followers. I have stated before that in every generation we should be building higher not starting again.

Elisha anointed Hazael and was very sad about it for he saw a man who would cause pain to Israel. Any person God anoints is for a particular purpose and whether good or bad in our eyes it is not our concern. God would use Hazael to bring judgement over the Kingdom of Israel. Elisha sent a servant to anoint Jehu and gives him specific instructions. Elijah had prophesied to Ahab of God's judgement regarding him and his family. Jehu was the person to bring it to pass. As I read this my heart was burdened to pray that every person needed to bring every promise to pass will be located by God. Until Jehu took over the kingdom, Jezebel and the sons of Ahab were still a force of havoc and sin.

Jehu on being anointed didn't waste time in fulfilling his mandate. He immediately set about destroying the house of Ahab and ensured that every prophecy Elijah gave over Ahab and his family was fulfilled to the letter. Jehu had served Ahab and heard the prophesies that Elijah made to Ahab. He may have wondered how they would be fulfilled, however, unknown to him he was to be the executor of the word of prophecy. That prophecy that has taken forever, don't give up! For the Lord will cause people to arise to execute the prophecy.

Jehu also destroyed the altar of baal and all the priests serving there. In his zeal, he had also shot the king of Judah, Ahaziah. Ahaziah's mother, Athaliah, killed every possible heir that she could get. Unknown to her a young child, Joash, was hidden in the House of Lord for 6 years where the priests brought him up. To that person who has been hidden in the house of God while someone else has sat on your throne illegally get ready to see God. Joash becomes king at 7 years of age.  Your age will not determine when the prophecy of your life comes to pass. God had promised David that his sons would reign in the throne and Athaliah sitting on the throne was illegal. She was killed for having defied prophecy and defiled the land by introducing the worship of baal.

Child of God, understand that God is jealous of His Word. His Word has to come to pass not because of you but because it is the Word of God.  God watches over His Word to perform it. God cannot lie and neither is He one to change the terms of engagement once He has committed Himself. Reckon the Word of God as settled. Agree with God's word and settle it within yourself that His Word will be fulfilled in your life.

Now is....

Everyday I seek to share something that I have learnt through the daily reading. I make a choice to discipline myself not to write too much as we inundated with a lot of reading material. Feel free to add comments because that way we share and thus encourage one another to grow into the fullness of Christ. Today I am amazed at the fact that God will always remember His covenant and fulfill the promise. I want to list five words in the order they appear in one scripture that showed God is at work in our lives. Remembered : My God will never forget me. To be delayed is not to be denied as God will surely remember. God spoke and said to Sarah that He would return at the appointed time; at the right season!!! I do believe that we are in a season where we will see God begin to act on the promises that seem forgotten. Or better put in another way there is a resurrection of seemingly forgotten prophecies that is about to take place. Dry bones are beginning to take shape. Listened : No longer

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than

Dont Go Back to Egypt

Day 207 Reading: Jeremiah 42:1 - Jeremiah 45:5 When life's blows strike us our response matters more than we realise. Many believers today are in a place of bewilderment because life has dealt blows that have knocked the wind out of them. As a result, many are questioning whether God is still God. Reading the Book of Jeremiah I have been encouraged to trust in God at all times.  The remnant children of Israel upon seeing the King of Babylon conquer them asked Jeremiah to seek the mind of God regarding their desire to go to Egypt. The same pattern of thinking that their forefathers had in saying let's go back to Egypt was on display generations after. Many people don't realise the importance of right thinking. God delivered the children of Israel out of Egypt, to desire to go there for safety is a smack to God in the face! When faced with trouble don't allow the thinking of God helps those who help themselves send you to Egypt. It's a death trap! Man
