God of Justice

Day 48

Reading: Num. 27:1 - Num. 30:16

God is a God of justice. Many today seek what is fair however many times they never get what justice has for them. The inheritance laws were clear about who would possess what. They seemed fair however the daughters of Zelophehad didn't think they were just. The Law didn't have a just settlement for where there was no male figure in a family. They questioned whether the law was inadvertently writing off the name of the family and his lineage because he didn't have boys. God's response is just and fair. A balance that is difficult to get in today's law systems.

The succession of leadership is important to God. Moses knew he wouldn't go into Canaan and sought God for a shepherd for the people. He didn't seek just for a leader but a shepherd. As a leader learn to wait on God on everything. Yes, Joshua was with Moses and it could have been easy to assume that he should take over, however, Moses asked God for direction. Learn to develop leaders who will take the work to the next level. Joshua would be anointed as leader before Moses died so that the people began to acknowledge that he was the leader before anyone came up with an idea.

In the book of Numbers, we find that God is constantly reinforcing different matters of the Law and daily life.  Reinforcing the principles of God enables them to be rooted in us. Learn to constantly read the Bible so as to remember the principles of the Word to remain. I don't read the bible as a storybook. I read to seek to learn and know God. The Bible is God's Word to me. The offerings mentioned giving an indicator of how important worship was to God. We are created to worship Him alone. Learn to live a life that is an offering to God continually. Learn to give to God continually a sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving.

We live in an age where our words are easily broken. Words are important to God. They show forth the character of a person. With this in mind, God addresses the vow. A vow is a voluntary promise to do something. When you make a vow fulfil it. The children of Israel made a vow to God when facing the King of Arad who had captured some of them, Numbers 21:2. This may be hard or difficult to do sometimes, however, do all that you can do. In God's order, the vow of a wife could be negated by the husband. This is because the husband is the head of the home. God respects order and where vows are observed His blessing is released.

Make a vow to serve God individually and as a family. You will see His power as you fulfil your portion. What will you do for Him in return for His victory? What you will do is the vow.

Memory Verse: Num. 27:16-17

Decree:

Lord, I surrender my all to You. I declare that You alone are worthy to be worshipped. I give You all the praise and glory. I lay my life as an offering to you alone. I pray that Your justice will be meted on all that concerns me. I decree that my life belongs to You alone. As I prosper in all things and learn more about You, I will serve You not only in my offerings towards the expansion of the Kingdom of God but I will declare Your Word to the nations. I will live for You in Jesus name. Amen.

Now is....

Everyday I seek to share something that I have learnt through the daily reading. I make a choice to discipline myself not to write too much as we inundated with a lot of reading material. Feel free to add comments because that way we share and thus encourage one another to grow into the fullness of Christ. Today I am amazed at the fact that God will always remember His covenant and fulfill the promise. I want to list five words in the order they appear in one scripture that showed God is at work in our lives. Remembered : My God will never forget me. To be delayed is not to be denied as God will surely remember. God spoke and said to Sarah that He would return at the appointed time; at the right season!!! I do believe that we are in a season where we will see God begin to act on the promises that seem forgotten. Or better put in another way there is a resurrection of seemingly forgotten prophecies that is about to take place. Dry bones are beginning to take shape. Listened : No longer

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than

Dont Go Back to Egypt

Day 207 Reading: Jeremiah 42:1 - Jeremiah 45:5 When life's blows strike us our response matters more than we realise. Many believers today are in a place of bewilderment because life has dealt blows that have knocked the wind out of them. As a result, many are questioning whether God is still God. Reading the Book of Jeremiah I have been encouraged to trust in God at all times.  The remnant children of Israel upon seeing the King of Babylon conquer them asked Jeremiah to seek the mind of God regarding their desire to go to Egypt. The same pattern of thinking that their forefathers had in saying let's go back to Egypt was on display generations after. Many people don't realise the importance of right thinking. God delivered the children of Israel out of Egypt, to desire to go there for safety is a smack to God in the face! When faced with trouble don't allow the thinking of God helps those who help themselves send you to Egypt. It's a death trap! Man
