Only God Enables

Day 54

Reading: Deut. 8:1- 11:32

To maintain the blessing that God bestows requires one lives by the commandments of God. Live according to the Word of God and you will remain in the place God has given you. One can only flourish by living according to the Word of God.  The tests we go through in life are to humble us, to sieve the heart and reveal what the contents of the heart are. Every challenge we go through is a test of our obedience to the Word of God.

God desires to feed us with manna, which is heavenly food for our earthly journey. As we journey here on earth we need heavenly strengthening and this is from eating the Bread of Heaven. I am not alive because of the natural food, however, I am created to live by every Word that proceeds from God. I am born to live by the living Word, not just the written word but the 'live' word of God. The word used in Hebrew that is translated lives means that the spoken Word of God will quicken, preserve, revive, nourish, recover, repair, save, and be made whole. The spoken Word will quicken, preserve, revive, nourish, repair, save, and will make one whole. Lord, speak Your Word continually to me.

The Word of God was so strong that the clothes they wore did not wear out and their feet did not swell with all the walking. Obedience to the Word of God will cause me to inherit the land whole. The Word is bringing me into the good land. I am coming to a place where I will never see scarcity again, as I will lack nothing by the Word of God bringing me to the promised land flowing with milk and honey. I will not forget that it is God that brings me to the place of His goodness. I will continually give thanks that it is the power of God that empowers to get wealth that I may establish the Covenant of God.

By the power of God, I am dispossessing greater nations than I. God goes as a consuming fire ahead of me and delivers my enemies to me. I drive them out by the prophetic word which has gone ahead of me. The Word of God declares I am blessed to be fruitful, increase, multiply, subdue my enemies and have dominion.

Don't think that the blessings that have come into your life have come because of your own righteousness. Know that it is the power of God. I am possessing the land, not because of my works but because God has judged those who are being evicted from the land and God is handing it over to His children. I am possessing the land because of God's promise to Abraham. I am an heir of the promise.

As you and I possess the land we should not forget the times of rebellion where we failed God. This is not so as to grieve but to constantly remember that it's because of God's grace and mercy that we are possessing the promised land. I am possessing the land by the mercies of God. Disobedience has consequences that are perilous. Rebelling against the Word of God has severe consequences. Fear God.

Learn to intercede for people. Moses interceded for 40 days and 40 nights praying that God would be merciful and not destroy the children of Israel. It's not a five-minute prayer that he prayed. He travailed for long that God would be merciful. In today's instant generation understanding this is an issue. We need to understand the language of travailing. No one person that has been used by God to change the world has not understood what it means to wait on the Lord.  Waiting on the Lord requires a travailing at times. This builds character. This shows God your level of hunger for Him and Him alone.

God requires of me to fear Him, to walk in all His ways, to love Him and serve Him with my all. The entire universe belongs to God. Circumcise the foreskin of the heart,  remove stubborn wayward thinking and behaviours and follow God wholeheartedly!

Keeping the commandments of God makes one strong, gives one the capacity to possess the land, empowers one to maintain possession of what God has given, livestock will have food to eat, a holy fear comes on those who see you leaving them in awe, and will result in the blessing of rain on the land to be available in season.

It's my responsibility to ensure my heart is right before God. That I am not walking in deception believing in another god and not Yahweh, the Lord of all, who reigns over all the affairs of men. It's my duty and responsibility to lay up the Word of God in all my being and to teach my children. It's not another person's responsibility to teach my children the way of the Lord. It's my responsibility to ensure I teach them the way and Word of the Lord.

Memory verse: Deut. 10:12-13

Decree:

Father, I love You. I yield my all to You alone. I declare that You are my Lord, my All in all. Cleanse my heart of any impurities that contaminates my love for You. Lord, give me the grace to teach my children the Word of God. I decree that I will not be an irresponsible parent relying on others to teach my children the Word of God. I decree that I will abide in Your Word and may Your Word abide in me. I decree that from today a dread imparted by God comes on all that concerns me causing me to walk into the land and dispossess those sitting on what is mine. I will walk boldly and confidently in God for His covenant cannot be broken. I choose to obey the commandments of God all the days of my life. I will see and hold the blessings of God all the days of my life in Jesus name. Amen

Now is....

Everyday I seek to share something that I have learnt through the daily reading. I make a choice to discipline myself not to write too much as we inundated with a lot of reading material. Feel free to add comments because that way we share and thus encourage one another to grow into the fullness of Christ. Today I am amazed at the fact that God will always remember His covenant and fulfill the promise. I want to list five words in the order they appear in one scripture that showed God is at work in our lives. Remembered : My God will never forget me. To be delayed is not to be denied as God will surely remember. God spoke and said to Sarah that He would return at the appointed time; at the right season!!! I do believe that we are in a season where we will see God begin to act on the promises that seem forgotten. Or better put in another way there is a resurrection of seemingly forgotten prophecies that is about to take place. Dry bones are beginning to take shape. Listened : No longer

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than

Dont Go Back to Egypt

Day 207 Reading: Jeremiah 42:1 - Jeremiah 45:5 When life's blows strike us our response matters more than we realise. Many believers today are in a place of bewilderment because life has dealt blows that have knocked the wind out of them. As a result, many are questioning whether God is still God. Reading the Book of Jeremiah I have been encouraged to trust in God at all times.  The remnant children of Israel upon seeing the King of Babylon conquer them asked Jeremiah to seek the mind of God regarding their desire to go to Egypt. The same pattern of thinking that their forefathers had in saying let's go back to Egypt was on display generations after. Many people don't realise the importance of right thinking. God delivered the children of Israel out of Egypt, to desire to go there for safety is a smack to God in the face! When faced with trouble don't allow the thinking of God helps those who help themselves send you to Egypt. It's a death trap! Man
