I Choose to be BLESSED

Day 59

Reading: Deut 28:1 - Deut. 29:29

God's blessings are conditional. Every promise of God has a condition. Fulfil the condition and you will see the benefits. God has chosen to bless those who walk in obedience to His Word. We have a responsibility to choose to obey the Word of God. There are certain pathways of blessings in life that only open through obedience to God's Word.  Not only would the blessing follow them, the blessings would also come upon them and overtake them. Prosperity is guaranteed for the one who keeps the Words of God. Moses announced the following blessings in obedience to the Word of God:
  • God will set me up on high.
  • I am blessed in the city and in the country
  • Blessed shall be my children, the produce of my ground-ministry, business or career- and the increase of my livestock. I am blessed with plenty of all areas of endeavour.
  • Blessed shall be my basket and kneading bowl- where I prepare, work, earn, or eat from!
  • I am blessed when I enter and leave any place, city, or nation.
  • The Lord will cause my enemies to be defeated before my face. They will come one way and flee in seven ways.
  • The Lord will command a blessing on all my storehouses. Anywhere I am investing is blessed.
  • I am blessed in/with the land God is giving me.
  • God will establish me as a holy person to Himself causing all to see that I am called by God's name and all will fear me.
  • God opens His good treasure in the heavens to give rains to all my land and bless the work of my hands.
  • I am a lender to nations and not a borrower.
  • I am the head and not the tail. I am above and never beneath.
God expects that I serve Him joyfully. Not to love God or serve Him with joy for the abundance of everything leads to one serving their enemies. The pleasure of sin leads to a painful and wasted life. Nothing should distract you from serving God with joy. Obedience leads to a healthy fear of the Lord. A drunkard considering himself sober is frowned upon, how much more one walking in disobedience thinking that he or she will be blessed. Many today are suffering from this delusion and I believe God is challenging every child of God to return to Him wholeheartedly.

God gives the heart that perceives His agenda, eyes that see as He sees, and ears to hear what He is saying. As believers may we desire to have a heart that perceives the agenda of God on a daily basis.

God has secrets and desires to reveal them. Once they are revealed they belong to us His children. Lord reveal your secrets to me! Let each day be one where I long and hunger to see the secret things of God revealed.

Memory Verse: Deut. 29:29

Decree:

Personalised scriptural decree. Say it aloud.

“Now it shall come to pass, as I will diligently obey the voice of the Lord my God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I am commanded today, that the Lord my God will set me high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon me and overtake me because I obey the voice of the Lord my God:
“Blessed shall I be in the city, and blessed shall I be in the country.
“Blessed shall be the fruit of my body, the produce of my ground and the increase of my herds, the increase of my cattle and the offspring of my flocks.
“Blessed shall be my basket and my kneading bowl.
“Blessed shall I be when you come in, and blessed shall I be when I go out.
“The Lord will cause my enemies who rise against me to be defeated before my face; they shall come out against me one way and flee before me in seven ways.
“The Lord will command the blessing on me in my storehouses and in all to which I set my hand, and He will bless me in the land which the Lord my God is giving me.
“The Lord will establish me as a holy people to Himself, just as He has sworn to me if I keep the commandments of the Lord my God and walk in His ways. Then all peoples of the earth shall see that I am called by the name of the Lord, and they shall be afraid of me. And the Lord will grant me plenty of goods, in the fruit of my body, in the increase of my livestock, and in the produce of my ground, in the land of which the Lord swore to my fathers to give me. The Lord will open to me His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to my land in its season, and to bless all the work of my hand. I shall lend to many nations, but I shall not borrow. And the Lord will make me the head and not the tail; I shall be above only, and not be beneath as I heed the commandments of the Lord my God, which I am commanded today, and I am careful to observe them. So I shall not turn aside from any of the words which I am commanded this day, to the right or the left, to go after other gods to serve them. Deut 28:1-14(italics mine)

Now is....

Everyday I seek to share something that I have learnt through the daily reading. I make a choice to discipline myself not to write too much as we inundated with a lot of reading material. Feel free to add comments because that way we share and thus encourage one another to grow into the fullness of Christ. Today I am amazed at the fact that God will always remember His covenant and fulfill the promise. I want to list five words in the order they appear in one scripture that showed God is at work in our lives. Remembered : My God will never forget me. To be delayed is not to be denied as God will surely remember. God spoke and said to Sarah that He would return at the appointed time; at the right season!!! I do believe that we are in a season where we will see God begin to act on the promises that seem forgotten. Or better put in another way there is a resurrection of seemingly forgotten prophecies that is about to take place. Dry bones are beginning to take shape. Listened : No longer

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than

Dont Go Back to Egypt

Day 207 Reading: Jeremiah 42:1 - Jeremiah 45:5 When life's blows strike us our response matters more than we realise. Many believers today are in a place of bewilderment because life has dealt blows that have knocked the wind out of them. As a result, many are questioning whether God is still God. Reading the Book of Jeremiah I have been encouraged to trust in God at all times.  The remnant children of Israel upon seeing the King of Babylon conquer them asked Jeremiah to seek the mind of God regarding their desire to go to Egypt. The same pattern of thinking that their forefathers had in saying let's go back to Egypt was on display generations after. Many people don't realise the importance of right thinking. God delivered the children of Israel out of Egypt, to desire to go there for safety is a smack to God in the face! When faced with trouble don't allow the thinking of God helps those who help themselves send you to Egypt. It's a death trap! Man
