God Values Family

Day 58

Reading: Deut. 24:1 - Deut. 27:26

The family is valued by God. Jehovah is the author of family. He is the God of family. Let God be the at the centre of your family. The family was so important to God that a newly wed man was granted leave of absence from the army.  Family requires a good foundation. A couple was to spend time setting a good foundation. The man was not to go out to deal with other issues when newly married. He had to first settle his home. Today, we rarely find couples spending the time to set up a good foundation for the home. It's marriage and quickly into what they were doing before. I am not saying one shouldn't work. The workload should not be the reason to not have a good foundation.

God expects that we keep justice. God expects that in our dealings with others we don't take advantage of them. We are not to have different measures for people. You are not to treat people differently. To have different weights at home and outside is a sign that God expects we treat people equally everywhere. I am God's own property, which makes me a peculiar personality.

Upon entering the promised land the priests were instructed to lead the people in declaring the law. They were instructed to write down the law on stone. Our hearts are like a stone before God and only God can change our hardhearted nature. By constantly reminding ourselves of the Word of God we apply the necessary oil to make our hearts malleable for God's purposes. Write the Word of God on your heart.

Memory Verse: Deut. 25:15

Decree:

Personalise the portion of scripture below.

'Today Charles you have proclaimed the Lord to be your God, and that you will walk in His ways and keep His statutes, His commandments, and His judgments, and that you will obey His voice. Also today the Lord has proclaimed you to be His special people, just as He promised you, that you should keep all His commandments, and that He will set you high above all nations which He has made, in praise, in name, and in honor, and that you may be a holy people to the Lord your God, just as He has spoken.”' Deut. 26:17-20(italics mine)

Now is....

Everyday I seek to share something that I have learnt through the daily reading. I make a choice to discipline myself not to write too much as we inundated with a lot of reading material. Feel free to add comments because that way we share and thus encourage one another to grow into the fullness of Christ. Today I am amazed at the fact that God will always remember His covenant and fulfill the promise. I want to list five words in the order they appear in one scripture that showed God is at work in our lives. Remembered : My God will never forget me. To be delayed is not to be denied as God will surely remember. God spoke and said to Sarah that He would return at the appointed time; at the right season!!! I do believe that we are in a season where we will see God begin to act on the promises that seem forgotten. Or better put in another way there is a resurrection of seemingly forgotten prophecies that is about to take place. Dry bones are beginning to take shape. Listened : No longer

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than

Dont Go Back to Egypt

Day 207 Reading: Jeremiah 42:1 - Jeremiah 45:5 When life's blows strike us our response matters more than we realise. Many believers today are in a place of bewilderment because life has dealt blows that have knocked the wind out of them. As a result, many are questioning whether God is still God. Reading the Book of Jeremiah I have been encouraged to trust in God at all times.  The remnant children of Israel upon seeing the King of Babylon conquer them asked Jeremiah to seek the mind of God regarding their desire to go to Egypt. The same pattern of thinking that their forefathers had in saying let's go back to Egypt was on display generations after. Many people don't realise the importance of right thinking. God delivered the children of Israel out of Egypt, to desire to go there for safety is a smack to God in the face! When faced with trouble don't allow the thinking of God helps those who help themselves send you to Egypt. It's a death trap! Man
