Day 95 Reading: 2 Sam. 23:1- 2 Sam. 24:25 Trouble is never far from our lives. Daily our lives seem to move from handling one issue to another. Every day we seem to have something that is a bother and needs divine intervention. I like saying to those without challenges please enjoy the mountaintop because you will soon be in the valley as you scale another mountaintop or to climb higher you need to push harder and that is not an easy task. Over the last few days, we have been introduced to a giant of faith namely David. David had his fair share of troubles. We have had the opportunity to look at his life from a young age when we saw him get anointed to when he becomes king. Throughout this time we have seen David display his strengths and weaknesses. The purpose is to teach us the ways of God. Day 39 Reading: Num. 3:1- Num. 4:49 As I read through the Bible my heart is being convicted afresh of my service to God. I was created to serve God's pleasure. To bring pleasure to Him in my service is to be my utmost desire and lifelong duty. Aaron lost two sons who were childless for having served a strange fire. Be careful that in serving God you don't serve a strange fire bringing a curse to yourself of not only of death but also not having a posterity. As a priest, we are called to serve the needs of the High Priest and the people. These are two services which today is rarely fulfilled by many believers. Don't become the believer who only wants to serve their own needs before God. You and I are called to serve the High Priest and the people.  When the census took place every male was counted from 20 years of age. Day 38 Reading: Num. 1:1 - Num. 2:34 Welcome to the fourth book of the Bible, Numbers. It's my prayer that you are staying focused and are learning bit by bit. I am also having fun jotting down these notes. May we have encounters with the Word that are life changing. God instructs Moses to number the people. This was in the second year after leaving Egypt. You may wonder why? We are in the desert why take a census of males aged 20 and above of all tribes minus the Levites? Learn to count your blessings even when in transition. Learn to take stock of what you have before the next season. Be prepared for the next season and that will mean taking account of what you have where you are. A census would also help the children of Israel to see how they have grown from the time they left Egypt. One must learn to recognise growth even in the desert place.
