The Call

Day 229 Reading: Hosea 5:1 - Hosea 9:17 God is calling His people back to Him. Hosea the prophet declared that God's children had forsaken God and chosen to go away. Reading the Book of Hosea you can see the pain and anguish God has in how His children serve idols and forsake Him. One theme the Book of Hosea brings to us is the call of repentance. Many are oppressed because they have walked away from God. Revival will only take place once repentance has taken place. Many want to see revival however they don't want to answer God's call of repentance. As I read the passage of Scripture for the day it dawned on me that God is preparing for a revival. The first thing that God is doing is adjusting our mindsets to realise that it's no longer about us but God and His agenda. Yes, God wants me to do well however His agenda is the priority. In Hosea we see God calling His children back to Him. After this clarion call to return to Him we see that Hosea is encour...

Job: Trouble, Repentance and Restoration

Days 149 Reading: Job 35:1 - Job 42:17 Everyone faces trouble. Trouble comes in many ways. For some it's illness, others its unemployment, sudden loss of a business, marital dispute or maybe a court case that just drags forever. You know what trouble you are  facing. I want to encourage you that there is an ending that is of God in every trouble. What lessons can be derived from the Book of Job? Fear not. Because of fear Job opened the door for the trouble he went through. What is that inner secret fear you harbour that is driving you instead of the love of God? God can boast about you. Job lived such a great life that pleased God that God could boast about him in heaven. Is God able to boast about you?  Be wary of the wisdom of friends when in trouble. Job's friends castigated him by accusing him of sin while not seeking God for an answer to his troubles. They spoke of God without His authority to declare to Job of hidden sin.  Don't allow trouble to dimin...

The Power of Repentance

Day 130 Reading: 2 Chronicles 33:1 - 2 Chronicles 34:33 There is a force in the spirit realm that many today don't like hearing. Many people don't want to hear the word repentance. Repentance is a force that changes situations creating a turnaround. Repentance has been misconstrued to be a bad word conveying an impression of one having been so evil. When the word is mentioned it evokes an uneasy feeling that many today feel is not palatable to the time and age we live in. However, repentance is a key we need to see restored in the Kingdom of God. Remorse is not to be confused with repentance. Repentance goes further than remorse.  Remorse is to be filled with guilt and shame because of our actions or words. It a form of regret filled with sorrow. It may lead to tears however it doesn't lead to a change in character. Repentance, on the other hand, goes one step further. Repentance not only has regret but one also turns from their pattern making the choice and ac...
