The Power of Agreement

Day 232 Reading: Amos 1:1 - Amos 4:13 Welcome to the Book of Amos. Amos was a farmer whom God called to be a prophet. He prophesied in during the reign of Uzziah, the king of Judah and in the days of Jeroboam the king of Israel. Another prophet who was also in this timeline is Hosea who prophesied to the Kingdom of Israel. The Book of Amos begins with a startling fact. It was written two years before the earthquake. Amos begins prophesying and declares that it is two years before an earthquake. Amos in prophesying to the nations declares to Israel that God was weighed down by the disobediece of His children. God questions the deeds of the children of Israel. Their disobedience defied His covenant. The children of Israel were committing idolatry and thus not walking with God. God desires that we walk with Him. The earth is looking for people who are walking with God to manifest His glory in all realms of life. We can only walk with God when we are in agreement with Him. ...

God of Suddenlies

Day 112 Reading: 2 Kings 21:1 - 2 Kings 23:37 One thing I have come to learn over and over again is that God is a God of a sudden happening. Everything may look bleak and then all of a sudden there is a change in circumstances that causes men to wonder how or where did that miracle come from.  To you my dear reader who is facing challenges that have driven you to the end of your wits, please know that God is a God of 'Sunddenlies'! He is able to show up suddenly in that situation and resolve it. Are you willing to believe that God is more than able to manifest Himself suddenly? Cast your burden on God and celebrate God for your season can change without an appointment.   Manasseh, the son of King Hezekiah was nowhere near like his father. King Hezekiah served and loved God, however, his son was the worst king to rule over Judah. He did everything that was wrong. The Bible says that Manasseh did abominations that exceeded the nations that God evicted from livi...

Of Kings and Kingship

Day 101 Reading: 1 Kings 13:1 - 1 Kings 15:34 Reading the book of Kings we will gain insight into God's dealings with different Kings. I realise that I am saying this when we are way into the book. However, in today's portion of the scriptural reading, we are introduced to different kings. One of the reasons I enjoy reading the Bible is that I get to see diverse characters and how God revealed Himself to them.  Jeroboam became King of Israel, leading 10 tribes after the Kingdom was torn into two namely, Judah and Israel. He became king by a prophetic announcement, however, he quickly forgot God. He committed the sin of misleading the people of Israel astray from the true worship of Jehovah. Jeroboam in an attempt to keep the kingdom to himself and not have the people influenced by the kingdom of Judah where the centre of worship for Israel was decided to erect two calves for worship and built high places. He then made anyone a priest. This gentleman simply went rog...

God's Wisdom Uplifts; Carnal Wisdom Tears Apart!

Day 100 Reading: 1 Kings 10:1 - 1 Kings 12:33 I am humbled that we have been on this journey for 100 days. As I wrote this tears flowed as my mouth was filled with thanksgiving for each day of learning. I only want to go deeper in my walk with God and these 'scribbles' are only a portion of the revelation of who God is. As I began to write I felt as though God desired to impart into my life a gift and today's lesson was not only about the gift but also a warning. In divine encounters don't just seek to hear the good news learn what you need to maintain the blessing. The Queen of Sheba hearing of the fame of Solomon concerning the Name of the Lord visited Solomon and came with hard questions to answer. Solomon's wisdom brought fame to the Name of God. Did you know that God is called The Only Wise God? The world was discussing how this man would answer enigmas and no question was too hard to answer. To the glory of God, everyone knew that it was the doing...
