Day 93 Reading: 2 Sam. 19:1 - 2 Sam. 20:26 The Bible is not a fantasy book. The Bible is full of principles that point towards the culture of the Kingdom of God. Don't read the Bible just to read stories. Study the Word to learn the ways of God. Imbibe the Word of God that you may become the manifestation God desires and designed you to be.  David while mourning for Absalom was reminded of the importance of not letting personal issues becloud the good of the majority. Joab told him that he needed to congratulate the warriors who had fought valiantly even though he had lost a son. Every leader needs to understand the importance of putting aside personal challenges and issues to maintain the good of everyone else. As a leader, you have to be careful that you don't allow personal matters to distract you from seeing the good others are doing for it can be costly to you and others as well.  David was a forgiving person. Day 92 Reading: 2 Sam. 16:1 - 2 Sam. 18:33 I will keep repeating one statement. God's word cannot fail to come to pass. It doesn't matter how long it takes. The Word of God cannot fail to come to pass. No matter the challenges of life, seek God for a Word from the Bible that you may hold on to that will be your anchor of faith. God created the universe by the Word and thus everything in the world will have no choice but to comply with the Word.  God's prophet, Nathan, told David that he would have adversity come to him and that he would be disgraced by a family member sleeping with his wives. Absalom was David's thorn in the flesh so to speak. Absalom acting on the advice of Ahithophel, a man whose counsel was seen as the oracle of God, he went and slept with the concubines that David had left behind in the open. Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. Day 90 Reading: 2 Sam. 12:1 - 2 Sam. 13:39 We rarely want to talk about sin, even more, the consequences of sin. In this dispensation we are living in many have ignored the consequences of sin. We want to love sinners and not talk about the sin which has them bound. In my walk as a Christian, I have discovered that sinning is easy and more importantly it is easy to silence every voice that will convict you of unrighteous acts.  My intention is not to condemn, rather help you and myself mature to the place God desires. We have played with sin long enough. It is time to walk upright and see the goodness of God. Too many times we have confused mercy and justice. Also, this blog is a breakdown of the passages of each day without the full revelation of the entire Bible. We are building each day to understand the fullness of what God's counsel is.
