Day 131 Reading: 2 Chronicles 35:1 - 2 Chronicles 36:23 What have I learned from reading the chronicles of how Israel asked for a King in 1st  Samuel to the time of the nation being led to captivity because they had departed from the ways of God? That was the question I heard in my heart as I was studying the scriptures today. The Bible is not a storybook we read for entertainment. The Bible is God's Word for our edification, instruction and in studying it one becomes knowledgeable in the ways of God. This list of lessons learnt is not exclusive to the 2 Books of Chronicles but includes lessons from 1st Samuel to the end of the 2nd Chronicles. No one should take the place of God . The children of Israel in asking for a king to lead them like other nations despised God's leadership. Child of God where have you chosen to be like the other nations and despised God's leading? Day 124 Reading: 2 Chronicles 12:1 - 2 Chronicles 16:14 Every day I desire to see the victory of God over situations I encounter and I know that I am not alone in having this desire. We all want a good life, no a better life. And that includes having a state or level of joyous living free of the shackles of pain and evil. As I read the passage of scripture assigned for today, it dawned on me that God wanted to teach me different keys to living a victorious life. What made the 3 kings we are told about to see the hand of God? Firstly, walk with God all the days of your life. Rehoboam enjoyed God's goodness for a while before the ruler of Egypt came and struck a blow. Rehoboam was attacked because he departed from the ways of God after God had established him. Don't become the believer who seeks God in trouble and then when all is good you run away and forget God. Trouble will bring you back to God just like Rehoboam came back running to God when trouble struck.  ...

Day 122 Reading: 1 Chronicles 5:1 - 1 Chronicles 7:22 There are many constant themes in the Bible. One such theme is prayer. Prayer is not one-way traffic to God. It's a conversation with God. It's two-way traffic where speaking and listening are involved. Prayer is a prerequisite to seeing God move in your situation. Prayer is made to God who keeps covenant and is merciful to His servants who walk before God with all their heart.  Solomon on completion of the temple brings the Ark and all the artefacts and treasuries in the temple. The Ark was brought in the midst of singing, rejoicing and trumpets being blown. The glory of God filled the place. Solomon then blessed the people and proceeded to pray. His prayer was offered from the brazen altar where sacrifices were made. Solomon's prayer of dedication is a cry to God to answer any prayer or plea made from the House of God.
