Day 35 Reading: Lev. 21:1- Lev. 23:44 Serving God is what we are to live for. It's not the exclusive call of a few but for humanity. God made us to serve Him and that we serve Him wholly. The law was strict on what a priest was allowed to do. The priest was to carry out their life with total consecration to God. The priest was not to hang around dead persons. Defilement meant that as a priest you couldn't offer the offerings or partake of the bread. Yes, he could be there for close family members but not everybody. Charles, don't mix yourself with everyone and thus get defiled. God is to be hallowed before all men! Live a consecrated life to be able to give bread to God. Don't live holy for the people but for God who makes me holy. A defect would disqualify a priest from serving in the tabernacle.
