Day 276 Reading: Romans 6:1 - Romans 10:21 Life is not funfair but warfare. Children spend their time playing games and to become mature in the ways of God one has to learn to overcome issues in life. Jesus promised that challenges will come and when they do one should rejoice  John 16:33 . You may wonder why joy is necessary when facing difficult challenging times. May I point you towards the prophet Isaiah who proclaimed that joy is the bucket we draw from the wells of salvation in life  Isaiah 12:3 . I don't know how your days, weeks and months have treated you so far. One thing I know is that God is still in charge and that alone is a reason to be joyful. Paul while writing to the church in Rome encourages them that they are more than conquerors. He encourages the believer to understand that they are more than conquerors. Day 180 Reading: Isaiah 10:1 - Isaiah 13:22 As I read today's passages I was struck by a new sound of joy that is rising within me. I believe God is at work in our lives and even though the outside circumstances and environment may not say so. I have news for you dear reader, God is about to turn on your enemy. God is not a respecter of persons. If He did it before He can do it again. He is about to surprise many with songs of deliverance as He turns the tables on their enemies. The children of Israel had not walked with God saw the Assyrian king come and strike both kingdoms of Israel and Judah. He took captives and left a remnant in Judah. The temple was also raided as they took the gold and silver from the House of God. God judged His Children as He had promised in the Law, as per Deuteronomy 28 .  However, God is a merciful God and full of goodness has mercy on His children and announces judgement on their captors. Day 161 Reading: Psalms 109:1 - Psalms 118:29 God is the creator of family. In the beginning, He placed the family in His plans for creation. One reason why Adam was not to live alone was that of family. Through family, society was grown and the population would increase. However, we find that this unit of society is under duress. When the family unit is destroyed then society's fabric begins to crumble. God desires to see families abound in His goodness. The Psalmist listed various blessings for the family.  God's love is unending to His children Psalms 103:13 . The manner in which a father pities the plight of His children how much more the Father of all fathers, the Creator, the Lord Almighty. God's love and desire for your wellbeing cannot be quantified. Man is finite while God is infinite. We cannot comprehend all that God has for us with our minds. Throw yourself on His love and watch as God's love bathes your life swaddling you with joy and peace. Day 137 Reading: Nehemiah 8:1 - Nehemiah 10:39 I am not alive because I deserve it and neither are you. We are alive and where we are in life because God is merciful. Many don't understand God's mercy. Many go through life thinking they deserve or are owed by God the best in life. That is a proud attitude. You see God is Holy. We are sinners. We are unclean yet we are loved by God who is pure and all powerful.  Nehemiah and Ezra summoned the people to listen to the Book of the Law. Ezra read the Book of the Law and was surrounded by people who helped the people understand the commandments and statutes. The whole purpose of reading the Law was to not only remind people of the Covenant God had made with them but to also get them to see the mercy of God. The reading of the law brought conviction to the hearts of the people. This conviction resulted in people weeping, however, Nehemiah and Ezra resolved that it was not to be a day of mourning but a day of joy.  Jo...

Day 6 Reading Gen. 20:1-Gen. 23:20 One of the joys of this new season is that God is constantly showing me that He is a speaking God. May God open my ears to hear Him continually. May my eyes also be open to see Him. We are introduced to Abimelech who takes Sarah and God immediately protected His own and defends Abraham by speaking to Abimelech. May God speak to those who have anything that is mine. Abimelech defends himself not by justifying himself but by reminding God of the people he, Abimelech, was the leader over and that they were a people who were seen as righteous. Charles be the kind of leader that God will seek to leave in authority even when you are mistaken genuinely in your actions.  Abraham was reprimanded by Abimelech, however, because of the instruction God had given Abimelech, Abraham left the place wealthy. Everyday I talk to different people due to the nature of my job and I and encounter the different cries of many. Everyone has a cry within their heart for a desire that they long to be fulfilled. Yesterday whilst talking to a friend whom I regularly talk to I discovered that they were worried about their future yet they hadn't expressed this side of their inner heart. Yes, I knew what the issue was but didn't realise the depth or gravity of the cry. As I reflected on this I began to pray a prayer I saw David the Psalmist had prayed. "Let me be happy and joyful!!" Psalms 51:8a CEV .  That was the cry of a broken man and represents the desire of many today whose lives are broken. As I continued in meditation it became clear that this year will be a year where God responds to this peculiar inner cry. You may have desired for long to see a miracle or need met, wait patiently knowing that God is for you and will cause you to hear joy and gladness once again in every area...
