More Than Conquerors

Day 276

Reading: Romans 6:1 - Romans 10:21

Life is not funfair but warfare. Children spend their time playing games and to become mature in the ways of God one has to learn to overcome issues in life. Jesus promised that challenges will come and when they do one should rejoice John 16:33. You may wonder why joy is necessary when facing difficult challenging times. May I point you towards the prophet Isaiah who proclaimed that joy is the bucket we draw from the wells of salvation in life Isaiah 12:3. I don't know how your days, weeks and months have treated you so far. One thing I know is that God is still in charge and that alone is a reason to be joyful.

Paul while writing to the church in Rome encourages them that they are more than conquerors. He encourages the believer to understand that they are more than conquerors. In a world where we revere conquerors to be called more than a conqueror reveals to us how important our identity is. God sees you as more than a conqueror which is higher than a conqueror. No matter the challenges you have conquered in life or mountains staring at you understand/know that you are more than a conqueror. Other than having a joyful attitude towards challenges another reason to stand strong is having an understanding of your identity. When you see yourself as more than a conqueror no matter the mountain in front of you; your response will be different. For example, is the glass half full or empty? When you see yourself as more than a conqueror you open your mind and life to receive wisdom to deal with the challenge. When you see yourself as defeated it becomes your nature. How you see yourself determines your reality.

The third reason why you should celebrate going through issues in life is the love of God. Nothing can separate you and me from the love of God. God's love overrides the challenges or valleys of life. As a believer, one must posture themselves in the place of resting assured of the love of God. To question God in the midst of a crisis paralysis your salvation. God's love is unconditional and no matter what you are facing in life don't doubt the love of God. Remember Job who placed his total trust in God that even God slew him his trust was unmovable. Remember that every challenge is intended to steal your salvation, kill your joy, love and hope in God and finally to destroy your life.

Maintain your attitude of joy at all times. Don't allow the issues of life to distort your identity in God. You are more than a conqueror and this mountain is simply a Goliath being added to your CV of mountains conquered. Lastly, remain in the love of God at all time.

Memory verse:  Romans 8:11

Decree:

Romans 10:9-10
that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (italics mine)

Now is....

Everyday I seek to share something that I have learnt through the daily reading. I make a choice to discipline myself not to write too much as we inundated with a lot of reading material. Feel free to add comments because that way we share and thus encourage one another to grow into the fullness of Christ. Today I am amazed at the fact that God will always remember His covenant and fulfill the promise. I want to list five words in the order they appear in one scripture that showed God is at work in our lives. Remembered : My God will never forget me. To be delayed is not to be denied as God will surely remember. God spoke and said to Sarah that He would return at the appointed time; at the right season!!! I do believe that we are in a season where we will see God begin to act on the promises that seem forgotten. Or better put in another way there is a resurrection of seemingly forgotten prophecies that is about to take place. Dry bones are beginning to take shape. Listened : No longer ...

Blessing or ....

To live well is one thing we all desire. I have never met anyone who did not want to live well. By living well for some people it means helping others. For others it means having a successful business. Yet for others it means travelling the world. I have discovered that it is not money that empowers but the blessing of God that empowers. Money is simply one of the many ways that the effects of the blessing may show up. Many times today in society we confuse money with being blessed yet people like Mother Teresa did not flaunt money but her life still is blessing many people round the world. The book of Deuteronomy has challenged me to desire to be blessed. Anyone who has walked with the blessing of God in their live has seen doors open that are a struggle for others. Yesterday I wrote about obedience. What obedience opens our lives to is the operation of the blessing. By choosing to obey the Word we are choosing to open our lives to be blessed. The purpose of being blessed is not self ...

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than ...
