The Gospel Proclaimed

Day 273

Reading: Acts 14:1 - Acts 20:38

Suddenly I have faced challenges getting this blog going out continually. I have made the choice to keep the faith and keep fighting to have truth sent out to many that it may inspire you the reader to love God more than ever. I have maintained my joy in knowing that God is in charge of all scenarios no matter the challenge.

Paul and Barnabas went around Europe and Asia Minor preaching the gospel. Everywhere they went they were bold in proclaiming the gospel. Reading through the Book of Acts one of the questions I have asked myself is what was the gospel Paul preached.

  • He declared that Christ rose from the dead. Any message of the Cross that doesn't speak of the resurrection is half-baked. Jesus had to rise to conquer death.
  • All were called to repentance. Christ had judged the enemy and man now had to turn from sin and return to God.
  • Paul declared that the grace of God was the reason we all could come to become children of God. Grace is God making available what you and I shouldn't have access to. Grace gives you and I access to all that God has ordained for us.
  • The death of Jesus took away the sin of man as the Law couldn't obtain the righteousness of God.
  • The gospel was accompanied by signs and wonders. Paul saw the power of God at work. His ministry was primarily to the Gentiles to present to them the love of God and His plan for their salvation.
  • Paul's message was uncompromising. He didn't beat about the bush with the truth. He declared it as it is without any sugar coating. He called sin as it is and gave the devil no room to mess with his ministry.
  • Paul's preaching was with authority. He walked into a town and before long the spiritual atmosphere was charged and challenged. Let me ask you, wherever you go is the spiritual climate challenged or changed?
  • Paul's message required all listeners to turn from idolatry to serve the One True God. This call is still relevant today where many have forgotten God doesn't share His throne in your life. He either is God alone or not there.
Let me challenge you to share the gospel with those who haven't come to the place of accepting God's grace. Let the world know that Jesus didn't die for us to have Christmas. He died that we may be reunited with God.

Memory Verse: Acts 20:32

Decree:

Acts 20:32
“So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified. (italics mine)

A better tomorrow

Everyone is hopeful for a better tomorrow. That's why we say "Good morning" at the start of the day. It's an indicator of the hope within that welcomes the dawning of a new day to bring better fortunes our way. God's mercies are new every morning and His compassion does not fail. When faced with adversity it becomes harder to see a better tomorrow, but resilient people are focused on the fact that trouble is only a comma in the sentence of life. At a time where fear has gripped many hearts because of various reasons, it is difficult to remain hopeful. Without hope, you cannot have the faith necessary to live. Faith is the substance of what is hoped for. Faith gives hope tangibility. To be without hope is to open the door of low living. Hopelessness is the start of damnation in life. You and I were born for a reason. We are not just statistics, making up numbers in any particular nation. You and I were born to reign in life. That situation that has so far made...

Lessons From A Parable

Day 259 Reading: Luke 14:1 - Luke 16:31 The thoughts that God has for you are too many to be counted. Jesus while speaking asked the disciples if they knew the number of hairs that fall off their head? Jesus told them that God is so interested in the minute details about us that He knows when one hair falls down. God is so detailed about our lives because He is good. When you embrace the goodness of God by understanding that God's love towards us is immeasurable. Whilst reading today's passages my heart was refreshed as I read a very famous parable featuring the prodigal son.   Jesus tells us of two sons and a father. The younger son asked for his inheritance and left home leaving the elder son and his father.  The younger went to a faraway land and wasted his life. He soon was dead broke, deserted by his new found friends and looking for a job. He soon was working for a farmer feeding his pigs. His job must have been so mundane with low pay as he ate the food the...

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than ...
