I Am Complete

Day 287

Reading: Colossians 1:1 - Colossians 4:18

When Paul wrote the letter to the Ephesians he focused on Christ and the body. The letter to the Ephesians is about what Christ has bestowed on the body. Thus we believers discover that we are sat in heavenly places in Christ from Paul's letter to the church in Ephesus. However, to the church in Colossae, he focuses on Christ the Head. Notice that Paul prays for the believer to be filled with wisdom in both letters to the Ephesians and Colossians. We all need wisdom, however, divine wisdom is more important.

One of the first things that Paul speaks about is that the believers in Colossae had a faith in Christ that was spoken of. As I read this statement the Holy Spirit reminded me of the importance of having faith in Christ alone. Many today have faith in people, things, money, a gift from God and forget that faith is to be rooted and grounded in Christ alone. Faith in anyone and anything else is bound to fail.

The believer needs to live in the consciousness of being delivered from the kingdom of darkness to the Kingdom of light. Through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross you, my dear believer, have been purchased with a price that exceeds every satanic agenda in power and authority. God has moved your seat. As I read these words in the letter to the Colossians that I have been moved I began to realise why I have no reason to be in any form of bondage. Satan has no jurisdiction over me. I dwell in the light of God's Kingdom. God's light is shining over all that concerns me. Darkness cannot co-exist with light, therefore, every form of satanic darkness lurking around is shattered by God's light within me.

Paul teaches the believer that in Christ we are complete. Let me deal with a lie from the pit of hell. Many today walk around thinking that a spouse will complete them. My spouse is not my better half. I am complete in Christ. Only in God is 1+1=1. God does not bring two halves together. When Jesus cried out and said it is finished, you and I were made whole.  God has completed what we need for our salvation. Our responsibility is to believe and work it out.

At the Cross, not only were we purchased with the Blood of Jesus, every handwriting against us was nailed on the Cross. Every legal requirement for your salvation was met by Jesus at the Cross and every failing that humanity has hanging over it was overwritten. We are absolved of every failing at the Cross.

The secret to manifesting the light of God is to let the Word of God dwell richly in us. Take the Word of God and let it dwell in your heart. You will soon discover that it is putting to death the works of the flesh and that you are showcasing the new man of Christ, the hope of glory.

Memory Verse: Colossians 3:16

Decree:

Colossians 2:6-7
As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving. (italics mine)

A better tomorrow

Everyone is hopeful for a better tomorrow. That's why we say "Good morning" at the start of the day. It's an indicator of the hope within that welcomes the dawning of a new day to bring better fortunes our way. God's mercies are new every morning and His compassion does not fail. When faced with adversity it becomes harder to see a better tomorrow, but resilient people are focused on the fact that trouble is only a comma in the sentence of life. At a time where fear has gripped many hearts because of various reasons, it is difficult to remain hopeful. Without hope, you cannot have the faith necessary to live. Faith is the substance of what is hoped for. Faith gives hope tangibility. To be without hope is to open the door of low living. Hopelessness is the start of damnation in life. You and I were born for a reason. We are not just statistics, making up numbers in any particular nation. You and I were born to reign in life. That situation that has so far made...

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than ...

Lessons From A Parable

Day 259 Reading: Luke 14:1 - Luke 16:31 The thoughts that God has for you are too many to be counted. Jesus while speaking asked the disciples if they knew the number of hairs that fall off their head? Jesus told them that God is so interested in the minute details about us that He knows when one hair falls down. God is so detailed about our lives because He is good. When you embrace the goodness of God by understanding that God's love towards us is immeasurable. Whilst reading today's passages my heart was refreshed as I read a very famous parable featuring the prodigal son.   Jesus tells us of two sons and a father. The younger son asked for his inheritance and left home leaving the elder son and his father.  The younger went to a faraway land and wasted his life. He soon was dead broke, deserted by his new found friends and looking for a job. He soon was working for a farmer feeding his pigs. His job must have been so mundane with low pay as he ate the food the...
