Going Forward

Life has been compared to a roller-coaster ride and not many people enjoy them as many also never enjoy life. "Why would you want to enter a roller-coaster ride where one is turned upside down and yet life's challenges also do the same?". This was an interesting question my friend once asked me. I retorted by saying that it helps take the sting out of life's punches when you have fun even in the midst of the fiery furnace that life is. Recently, like a few years now, I had a situation that really brought me to tears. As I meditated on the events leading to the painful experience I was in, I had to question whether I needed to be on this roller-coaster ride. As I reflected more on what I could have done differently, I began to realise why bitterness is such a killer. Not only did I see my mistakes and what I could have done better, but I also realised where I let my guard down and allowed the enemy in. When going through the throngs of life I was reminded that t...

Going Forward

Dear Friend, Hope and pray that you are well and more importantly living life on purpose. I know I haven't blogged for a while, actually since late 2012. I took a break as certain changes in my life were being made. I haven't made all the changes yet, however I have been encouraged to get back to blogging for one major reason: fulfilling purpose.  A clarion call is being made in the heavens and in the earth. That call is to go forward! Don't allow the vicissitudes of life to hinder your progress. Life may offer different permutations or variations. However, you must go forward irrespective of the flips life has thrown at you. Don't wait for everything to be perfect. Abraham and Sarah were passed humanely perfect conditions for having children, but God came through for them. When Lazarus was called from the grave he came out bound from the top of his head to the feet with grave-clothes. Unbelievably, he moved forward from the place of capt...

Press On

The last quarter of the year will soon be dawning on us. As I thought about what to share with everyone one word kept coming to my heart and mind: TIRED. Many people are tired as the year is entering this period and as a result will finish the race flagging and not emphatically.  I do recognise that the times we are living in are tougher by the day and for many it appears as though life is never going to reward them with their desires. Many times we have knocked on doors and yet none has opened and as a result we being human we start behaving and responding in a despondent manner. Not only that but our vision is now a clouded perspective that only appears to be filled with nothing but the challenges of the present day and not hope any more. The real winners in life never give up. Abraham was 99 when having believed for 24 years his wife suddenly told him that she was expecting. Joseph went through a pit and prison but still held on to the dream of his being a ruler. Jesus ...

A.R.I.S.E.

While thinking of the times we are living in, everyone has a choice to make going forward. It's a choice that will determine the outcome of our lives in 2012.We live in days that have been described by some as the darkest ever in many fronts. Isaiah, the prophet, spoke of darkness covering the earth and gross darkness the people but commanded the children of covenant to ARISE as the Lord would arise over His people Is 60:1-2 . How should we as God's children then arise? A: Attentively . When soldiers are called to arise it's never at ease unless   instructed. Don't go into 2012 standing lazily, but be attentive in your posture to possess that which God has for you. Pay heed to opportunities that lie ahead. R: Ready . Be ready to move to the next level. Don't go into 2012 choosing to remain the same but have it in mind that you are moving forward. Kangaroos only move forward never hoping backwards no matter the circumstances. I: Instruction . Be willing to listen ...

Hold On

Dear Friend, I noticed that your smile was jaded and that you were exhausted. Life has not been easy for you over the last few months. It seems to have been a slog over the last few months and yet the sun doesn't seem to be shining over your life. I know it feels like you are in a dark tunnel that doesn't seem to have an end right now. I do realise that you are not only positive but very optimistic that all will be well. I just want to encourage you to hold on. I read a story of a gentleman who was a prisoner of war for years on end. He survived but many didn't and when asked what made him different he said it was because he settled it in his mind that the end of this matter would be good news for him. He was not only optimistic but he held onto the faith that he would overcome in the end John 16:33. Don't let lives storms take the smile out of your life; the storms should only make you stronger and better. Always remember that in life every situation is not eternal ...

P.A.S.S.I.O.N

Everyday we go through situations that seem to rock the boat of life and knock the breath out of us. In my studying the bible and biographies of great people I have come to discover one quality they had; namely PASSION. On a daily basis I have discovered my passion for the purpose I was created for is under attack. I have to make every effort to maintain my passion that I may fulfil my purpose. What then is PASSION? P: People lover -Passionate people have people's lives at their centre. A genuine love for people fuels passion. A: Attitude - Passionate people have the right attitude towards life that is positive and uplifting. Negative people are passionless and spineless in life. S: Systematic - Passionate people work with systems and not chaos. Jesus loved people, and when faced with a crowd that was hungry before the miracle He created a system to transmit the loaves and fish that would cater for the need.  S: Servant - Passionate people are willing servants. They service the dr...

The Diamond Inside You

Welcome to a new month. I am sure that within each and everyone reading this blog lies a desire to live a life that is fulfilling. One of the things that I have discovered about life is that trouble is not a respector of persona. Trouble visits everyone at any time. Trouble does not respect age, wealth, status, location, education, technological advancement or life. Trouble has a way of rearing it's ugly head in life that unsettles a person.  Many times we ask why me when in trouble, because trouble has a way of making one think selfishly that you are the only one in trouble.  You and I are driving on a journey in a vehicle called " Life ", each one of us on this road called "Living " are on different lanes. The journey towards the destination of life is fraught with many bumps, humps, barriers, and agents that seek to slow you down; all an array of none other than " Trouble ". Solomon said in Ecclesiastes 3 that life is lived in a parameter called t...
