Press On

The last quarter of the year will soon be dawning on us. As I thought about what to share with everyone one word kept coming to my heart and mind: TIRED. Many people are tired as the year is entering this period and as a result will finish the race flagging and not emphatically.

I do recognise that the times we are living in are tougher by the day and for many it appears as though life is never going to reward them with their desires. Many times we have knocked on doors and yet none has opened and as a result we being human we start behaving and responding in a despondent manner. Not only that but our vision is now a clouded perspective that only appears to be filled with nothing but the challenges of the present day and not hope any more.

The real winners in life never give up. Abraham was 99 when having believed for 24 years his wife suddenly told him that she was expecting. Joseph went through a pit and prison but still held on to the dream of his being a ruler. Jesus went to the cross but still held on to the promise that He would rise from the dead. They never gave up as they still believed the promise or dream would become real.

No greater inventor or innovator in life achieves much without perseverance. To get to the finishing line as a winner one must press on diligently. Dust off the dreams, clear your sight that you may see well, open your ears to sounds of hope and encouragement, rise up from where you have fallen back and run this last leg of the race well. Shake off everything that seeks to derail you from seeing the promises of God fulfilled. God has made you a winner, for whatever is born of God overcomes the world 1 John 5:1, 4.

Now is....

Everyday I seek to share something that I have learnt through the daily reading. I make a choice to discipline myself not to write too much as we inundated with a lot of reading material. Feel free to add comments because that way we share and thus encourage one another to grow into the fullness of Christ. Today I am amazed at the fact that God will always remember His covenant and fulfill the promise. I want to list five words in the order they appear in one scripture that showed God is at work in our lives. Remembered : My God will never forget me. To be delayed is not to be denied as God will surely remember. God spoke and said to Sarah that He would return at the appointed time; at the right season!!! I do believe that we are in a season where we will see God begin to act on the promises that seem forgotten. Or better put in another way there is a resurrection of seemingly forgotten prophecies that is about to take place. Dry bones are beginning to take shape. Listened : No longer ...

Blessing or ....

To live well is one thing we all desire. I have never met anyone who did not want to live well. By living well for some people it means helping others. For others it means having a successful business. Yet for others it means travelling the world. I have discovered that it is not money that empowers but the blessing of God that empowers. Money is simply one of the many ways that the effects of the blessing may show up. Many times today in society we confuse money with being blessed yet people like Mother Teresa did not flaunt money but her life still is blessing many people round the world. The book of Deuteronomy has challenged me to desire to be blessed. Anyone who has walked with the blessing of God in their live has seen doors open that are a struggle for others. Yesterday I wrote about obedience. What obedience opens our lives to is the operation of the blessing. By choosing to obey the Word we are choosing to open our lives to be blessed. The purpose of being blessed is not self ...

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than ...
