P.A.S.S.I.O.N

Everyday we go through situations that seem to rock the boat of life and knock the breath out of us. In my studying the bible and biographies of great people I have come to discover one quality they had; namely PASSION. On a daily basis I have discovered my passion for the purpose I was created for is under attack. I have to make every effort to maintain my passion that I may fulfil my purpose. What then is PASSION?

P: People lover-Passionate people have people's lives at their centre. A genuine love for people fuels passion.
A: Attitude- Passionate people have the right attitude towards life that is positive and uplifting. Negative people are passionless and spineless in life.
S: Systematic- Passionate people work with systems and not chaos. Jesus loved people, and when faced with a crowd that was hungry before the miracle He created a system to transmit the loaves and fish that would cater for the need.
S: Servant- Passionate people are willing servants. They service the dreams of others; they service their families with joy and peace; they are humble and know that the best way to live life is to serve others and not themselves.
I: Inspiring- Passionate people have a fire that stirs their heart to pursue their dream or goal. They have a flame that inspires them towards greatness.
O: Obedient- Passionate people understand that obedience to the laws of God results in fulfilment of their purpose as disobedience negates passion.
N: Nurturing- Passionate people will always nurture their passions towards that which aids their achieving purpose.

As you go through life my prayer for each of us is that we will maintain the right passions and pursue our purpose. May the flame of your passion burn brightly in these turbulent times.

A better tomorrow

Everyone is hopeful for a better tomorrow. That's why we say "Good morning" at the start of the day. It's an indicator of the hope within that welcomes the dawning of a new day to bring better fortunes our way. God's mercies are new every morning and His compassion does not fail. When faced with adversity it becomes harder to see a better tomorrow, but resilient people are focused on the fact that trouble is only a comma in the sentence of life. At a time where fear has gripped many hearts because of various reasons, it is difficult to remain hopeful. Without hope, you cannot have the faith necessary to live. Faith is the substance of what is hoped for. Faith gives hope tangibility. To be without hope is to open the door of low living. Hopelessness is the start of damnation in life. You and I were born for a reason. We are not just statistics, making up numbers in any particular nation. You and I were born to reign in life. That situation that has so far made...

Lessons From A Parable

Day 259 Reading: Luke 14:1 - Luke 16:31 The thoughts that God has for you are too many to be counted. Jesus while speaking asked the disciples if they knew the number of hairs that fall off their head? Jesus told them that God is so interested in the minute details about us that He knows when one hair falls down. God is so detailed about our lives because He is good. When you embrace the goodness of God by understanding that God's love towards us is immeasurable. Whilst reading today's passages my heart was refreshed as I read a very famous parable featuring the prodigal son.   Jesus tells us of two sons and a father. The younger son asked for his inheritance and left home leaving the elder son and his father.  The younger went to a faraway land and wasted his life. He soon was dead broke, deserted by his new found friends and looking for a job. He soon was working for a farmer feeding his pigs. His job must have been so mundane with low pay as he ate the food the...

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than ...
