P.A.I.N

Walking through this journey of life we have many companions. One companion we all encounter and is either a friend or foe is called PAIN. In the highway of life we will always travel through mountains and valleys in whose midst we meet with pain. We are born in pain, live life seeking to limit pain, and our passing on causes pain to someone. Even Jesus was not immune to pain as the cruxification was nothing but pain. There are many things we can say about pain are is just a few more.

P: Personal- Pain is always personal. Ask the mother about child birth, the husband watches and sees the pain but only the mother feels the physical anguish of child birth. Ask the person whose heart has just been broken and their pain is truly evidently personal.
A: Agonizing- Anyone who has been in pain knows that pain can however short or long it is it will cause one to agonize. This aspect of pain fuels prayer touching the hearts of both the Hearer and bearer.
I: Incidental- Pain is not a constant but occurs incidentally. Ask the person who cut themselves while chopping meat or onions, it wasn't planned but that incident leaves a scar that teaches one a life lesson.
N:-Nurturing- Pain will cause one to reflect on life's incidents and draw lessons that build and makes us to be who we are.

We all have pain but don't allow pain to frustrate your dreams let it fuel and cause you to rise above the place of devastation. God will change your sorrow to joy, mourning to dancing only if you chose to allow Him.

A better tomorrow

Everyone is hopeful for a better tomorrow. That's why we say "Good morning" at the start of the day. It's an indicator of the hope within that welcomes the dawning of a new day to bring better fortunes our way. God's mercies are new every morning and His compassion does not fail. When faced with adversity it becomes harder to see a better tomorrow, but resilient people are focused on the fact that trouble is only a comma in the sentence of life. At a time where fear has gripped many hearts because of various reasons, it is difficult to remain hopeful. Without hope, you cannot have the faith necessary to live. Faith is the substance of what is hoped for. Faith gives hope tangibility. To be without hope is to open the door of low living. Hopelessness is the start of damnation in life. You and I were born for a reason. We are not just statistics, making up numbers in any particular nation. You and I were born to reign in life. That situation that has so far made...

Lessons From A Parable

Day 259 Reading: Luke 14:1 - Luke 16:31 The thoughts that God has for you are too many to be counted. Jesus while speaking asked the disciples if they knew the number of hairs that fall off their head? Jesus told them that God is so interested in the minute details about us that He knows when one hair falls down. God is so detailed about our lives because He is good. When you embrace the goodness of God by understanding that God's love towards us is immeasurable. Whilst reading today's passages my heart was refreshed as I read a very famous parable featuring the prodigal son.   Jesus tells us of two sons and a father. The younger son asked for his inheritance and left home leaving the elder son and his father.  The younger went to a faraway land and wasted his life. He soon was dead broke, deserted by his new found friends and looking for a job. He soon was working for a farmer feeding his pigs. His job must have been so mundane with low pay as he ate the food the...

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than ...
