The Diamond Inside You

Welcome to a new month. I am sure that within each and everyone reading this blog lies a desire to live a life that is fulfilling. One of the things that I have discovered about life is that trouble is not a respector of persona. Trouble visits everyone at any time. Trouble does not respect age, wealth, status, location, education, technological advancement or life. Trouble has a way of rearing it's ugly head in life that unsettles a person.  Many times we ask why me when in trouble, because trouble has a way of making one think selfishly that you are the only one in trouble.

You and I are driving on a journey in a vehicle called "Life", each one of us on this road called "Living" are on different lanes. The journey towards the destination of life is fraught with many bumps, humps, barriers, and agents that seek to slow you down; all an array of none other than "Trouble". Solomon said in Ecclesiastes 3 that life is lived in a parameter called time. Driving on Living lane you will discover that the hills, planes, mountains, steep climbs, down hill drops that you will undertake are all listed as different seasons of living in time. Notice that through time trouble is a constant. At times it's hot, cold, sickness, low energy- think of low fuel in the car- depression-think of the darkness settling in as you drive towards a destination you have never visited-I could go on and on. Trouble comes in many forms as one drives along the journey called Living. Notice that when a driver of a vehicle hits a bump they don't stop or turn to another direction. Do not allow trouble to stop you from continuing in this journey towards achieving and fulfilling the dream God has over your life.

The reason trouble rears it's ugly head is to help form the jewel in you. Inside you is a precious jewel that is being formed. Diamonds are beautiful to behold. They are a girls best friend.  James Bond had us believing that "Diamonds are Forever". Diamonds are not just made or cloned into being. The real gem that a diamond is formed out of heated carbon that is formed over many many years. The carbon must be heated at over 1100 degrees Celsius. The heat you are feeling is only helping to form the beautiful jewel in you. The process of forming diamonds is done so deep in the earth that it takes volcanic reaction for them to come near enough for mankind to mine them. Diamonds are brought to the earth's surface from the inner crust of the earth by a magma flow that is a rare event. You may feel forgotten but understand that once the process is complete you will ready to be brought out to the sheer marvel and delight of mankind. Think about David in the bible. A virtual unknown until the day God tells Samuel to anoint him. He lived in the backside of the desert being formed and prepared for greatness. No one knew of the lion being killed before he slayed Goliath. Your current battle is preparing you for a stage entry that will propel you to greatness. God has not forgotten you and His hand is very much in the middle of your current scenario. He is forming a precious jewel within you and I that will be a marvel and wonder to all. As they marvelled at how David and 5 stones took on a giant they will marvel at God's handiwork in you.

All the trouble you are facing has one purpose; to form a jewel in you. Solomon said something awesome in Ecclesiastes 3:11a " He has made everything beautiful in His time." Irrespective of how life looks God has made it beautiful; He is not making it beautiful, God has already made it beautiful. Your trouble is only helping God to produce the outcome that is already assured and guaranteed as beautiful. It's important that we know and have an assurance, a conviction of the capability of the promise manifesting, that we know that God is in control. Trouble is not in charge no matter how bad it looks, God is in charge of this vehicle. I will end with words of Paul to the Romans 8:28.
"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose."

Now is....

Everyday I seek to share something that I have learnt through the daily reading. I make a choice to discipline myself not to write too much as we inundated with a lot of reading material. Feel free to add comments because that way we share and thus encourage one another to grow into the fullness of Christ. Today I am amazed at the fact that God will always remember His covenant and fulfill the promise. I want to list five words in the order they appear in one scripture that showed God is at work in our lives. Remembered : My God will never forget me. To be delayed is not to be denied as God will surely remember. God spoke and said to Sarah that He would return at the appointed time; at the right season!!! I do believe that we are in a season where we will see God begin to act on the promises that seem forgotten. Or better put in another way there is a resurrection of seemingly forgotten prophecies that is about to take place. Dry bones are beginning to take shape. Listened : No longer ...

Blessing or ....

To live well is one thing we all desire. I have never met anyone who did not want to live well. By living well for some people it means helping others. For others it means having a successful business. Yet for others it means travelling the world. I have discovered that it is not money that empowers but the blessing of God that empowers. Money is simply one of the many ways that the effects of the blessing may show up. Many times today in society we confuse money with being blessed yet people like Mother Teresa did not flaunt money but her life still is blessing many people round the world. The book of Deuteronomy has challenged me to desire to be blessed. Anyone who has walked with the blessing of God in their live has seen doors open that are a struggle for others. Yesterday I wrote about obedience. What obedience opens our lives to is the operation of the blessing. By choosing to obey the Word we are choosing to open our lives to be blessed. The purpose of being blessed is not self ...

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than ...
