The Call

Day 229

Reading: Hosea 5:1 - Hosea 9:17

God is calling His people back to Him. Hosea the prophet declared that God's children had forsaken God and chosen to go away. Reading the Book of Hosea you can see the pain and anguish God has in how His children serve idols and forsake Him. One theme the Book of Hosea brings to us is the call of repentance. Many are oppressed because they have walked away from God.

Revival will only take place once repentance has taken place. Many want to see revival however they don't want to answer God's call of repentance. As I read the passage of Scripture for the day it dawned on me that God is preparing for a revival. The first thing that God is doing is adjusting our mindsets to realise that it's no longer about us but God and His agenda. Yes, God wants me to do well however His agenda is the priority.

In Hosea we see God calling His children back to Him. After this clarion call to return to Him we see that Hosea is encouraging the listener and reader to understand that God will bind and heal every wound that one may have. A call to repentance is a call to return to God. It is a call back to the Creator away from following the selfish ways that we have followed. Repentance is making a 180 degrees turning. It's returning to God wholly and wholeheartedly. God desires we give our all back to Him. Study every revival and you will see that the catalyst to the revival was a move of repentance.

After repentance, God promises to revive us before raising us. It is when we get back to God that we shall be revived. God desires to revive marriages, businesses, families, His children, however, this can only happen when we repent of sin. Unless true inner repentance is seen by God then we cannot see what we desire. God told Solomon at the dedication of the Temple, that if God's children pray, turn from their wicked ways, seek His face, then God will answer and cause rain to fall on the earth 2 Chronicles 7:14

After a reviving by God, He will raise us. Ever seen a person who collapses. Medics will advise that the person is first revived. After they are revived they are then raised to a position that is right. Many just want to be revived. Don't stop at the place of reviving, desire to be raised. May God raise you and me to higher levels. Remember that the root is repentance. You cannot be raised by God if you are not repentant at first. May the Spirit of God convict us that we repent and turn to Him.

Memory Verse: Hosea 6:1-2

Decree:

Hosea 6:3
Let us know, let us pursue the knowledge of the Lord. His going forth is established as the morning; He will come to us like the rain, like the latter and former rain to the earth. (italics mine)

Now is....

Everyday I seek to share something that I have learnt through the daily reading. I make a choice to discipline myself not to write too much as we inundated with a lot of reading material. Feel free to add comments because that way we share and thus encourage one another to grow into the fullness of Christ. Today I am amazed at the fact that God will always remember His covenant and fulfill the promise. I want to list five words in the order they appear in one scripture that showed God is at work in our lives. Remembered : My God will never forget me. To be delayed is not to be denied as God will surely remember. God spoke and said to Sarah that He would return at the appointed time; at the right season!!! I do believe that we are in a season where we will see God begin to act on the promises that seem forgotten. Or better put in another way there is a resurrection of seemingly forgotten prophecies that is about to take place. Dry bones are beginning to take shape. Listened : No longer ...

Blessing or ....

To live well is one thing we all desire. I have never met anyone who did not want to live well. By living well for some people it means helping others. For others it means having a successful business. Yet for others it means travelling the world. I have discovered that it is not money that empowers but the blessing of God that empowers. Money is simply one of the many ways that the effects of the blessing may show up. Many times today in society we confuse money with being blessed yet people like Mother Teresa did not flaunt money but her life still is blessing many people round the world. The book of Deuteronomy has challenged me to desire to be blessed. Anyone who has walked with the blessing of God in their live has seen doors open that are a struggle for others. Yesterday I wrote about obedience. What obedience opens our lives to is the operation of the blessing. By choosing to obey the Word we are choosing to open our lives to be blessed. The purpose of being blessed is not self ...

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than ...
