God Will Sing Over Me

Day 239

Reading: Zephaniah 1:1 - Zephaniah 3:20

As soon as I read this portion of Scripture my heart was filled with joy. I stood and walked with a bounce because something great was dropped into my heart. I had woken up with many questions in my heart. Questions of destiny, life and wisdom. Not only was I asking questions for myself but I also get to hear a lot from many people and sometimes they need wisdom.

We are living in times that require focus on God. The person who is not focussed will be stunned to discover how off course they are. The days we are living many are distracted and only come to realise that they are off course when they look up and discover that God is not where they thought He is. We are living in times where intimacy with God is what will bring us to the place of joy.

Zephaniah is one who in the midst of the troubled times that the children of God were facing walked intimately with God. He lived during the reign of Josiah a period during which the King sought after God even restoring the Temple worship. When the Law of Moses was found in the Temple, Josiah repented of the sins of the land and God responded by telling him that he, Josiah, would be spared of the destruction that was coming 2 Kings 22: 10-20. Zephaniah was sent to remind the children of God of the coming judgement.

My dear friend, a day is coming when you will stand before God. It will not be a day to play games. It will be a day to give an account. That will be a day where you and I will stand before the Righteous Judge and give account for our lives. Many today live without any regard of this. Our hearts should be filled with a holy fear knowing that we shall meet the Creator, the Miracle Worker as the Judge. God will weigh our lives and my prayer is that it will be said that I delighted to do His will Psalms 40:7.

God is restoring a pure language amongst His people. It's a language of love. It's not the love of a person but the God kind of love that loves not because of feelings or attachment but a choice. God is restoring amongst His children the love that will unite us together tying us together with bounds of love. In unity, we shall call on the name of God and serve Him wholly. Once love is aflame in us the world will turn to God. As long as we love selectively we won't see the hand of God. God makes it rain on all not selectively.

In the midst of love, we shall experience a rejoicing that can only come from God. God's love will quieten us by removing the crying and despondency in our hearts. Zephaniah then says something that is stunning. He prophecies that God would sing over you and me. Imagine the way a lover is serenaded with a love song, God will serenade you with His song. Let love overflow and soon you will hear a new song over your life coming from God.

Memory Verse:

Decree:

Zephaniah 3:17-19

The Lord your God in your midst, the Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.” “I will gather those who sorrow over the appointed assembly, who are among you, to whom its reproach is a burden. Behold, at that time I will deal with all who afflict you; I will save the lame, and gather those who were driven out; I will appoint them for praise and fame in every land where they were put to shame. A better tomorrow

Everyone is hopeful for a better tomorrow. That's why we say "Good morning" at the start of the day. It's an indicator of the hope within that welcomes the dawning of a new day to bring better fortunes our way. God's mercies are new every morning and His compassion does not fail. When faced with adversity it becomes harder to see a better tomorrow, but resilient people are focused on the fact that trouble is only a comma in the sentence of life. At a time where fear has gripped many hearts because of various reasons, it is difficult to remain hopeful. Without hope, you cannot have the faith necessary to live. Faith is the substance of what is hoped for. Faith gives hope tangibility. To be without hope is to open the door of low living. Hopelessness is the start of damnation in life. You and I were born for a reason. We are not just statistics, making up numbers in any particular nation. You and I were born to reign in life. That situation that has so far made...

Lessons From A Parable

Day 259 Reading: Luke 14:1 - Luke 16:31 The thoughts that God has for you are too many to be counted. Jesus while speaking asked the disciples if they knew the number of hairs that fall off their head? Jesus told them that God is so interested in the minute details about us that He knows when one hair falls down. God is so detailed about our lives because He is good. When you embrace the goodness of God by understanding that God's love towards us is immeasurable. Whilst reading today's passages my heart was refreshed as I read a very famous parable featuring the prodigal son.   Jesus tells us of two sons and a father. The younger son asked for his inheritance and left home leaving the elder son and his father.  The younger went to a faraway land and wasted his life. He soon was dead broke, deserted by his new found friends and looking for a job. He soon was working for a farmer feeding his pigs. His job must have been so mundane with low pay as he ate the food the...

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than ...
