I Still Believe

Life is full of twists and turns that sometimes just take the wind out of us. Over the last few weeks speaking with friends and also hearing from others I began to perceive that many of us are in a battle. Your battle may vary from one person to another but it is still a battle. I woke today morning with one resolve that irrespective of the heat of the battles around me I make the choice to believe the Word of God.

The Word of God frames the world(Hebrews 11:3) and I am resolute and will stand firm in my belief that God's promises for me are yea and Amen. I made up my mind that no matter what the enemy tries I won't back away from holding onto the Word of God. Peter asked Jesus to speak a word that he may walk on water an action that he did once Jesus had spoken the word. Peter though began to focus on the storm and the waves that were blowing that his focus moved from Jesus to the storm, which resulted in him sinking and calling for help.

The secret to walking through the battle is to remain focused on the God of the Word and the Word of God for they are inseparable. Face every situation you are facing with faith in the Word and allow the One who is the Living Word to reign in that matter. Remember that your path will only become brighter and brighter as you hold onto the Master Proverbs 4:18. Keep the fight for your faith alive and see God manifest great things on your behalf as nothing is too hard for Him Genesis 18:14.

A better tomorrow

Everyone is hopeful for a better tomorrow. That's why we say "Good morning" at the start of the day. It's an indicator of the hope within that welcomes the dawning of a new day to bring better fortunes our way. God's mercies are new every morning and His compassion does not fail. When faced with adversity it becomes harder to see a better tomorrow, but resilient people are focused on the fact that trouble is only a comma in the sentence of life. At a time where fear has gripped many hearts because of various reasons, it is difficult to remain hopeful. Without hope, you cannot have the faith necessary to live. Faith is the substance of what is hoped for. Faith gives hope tangibility. To be without hope is to open the door of low living. Hopelessness is the start of damnation in life. You and I were born for a reason. We are not just statistics, making up numbers in any particular nation. You and I were born to reign in life. That situation that has so far made...

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than ...

Lessons From A Parable

Day 259 Reading: Luke 14:1 - Luke 16:31 The thoughts that God has for you are too many to be counted. Jesus while speaking asked the disciples if they knew the number of hairs that fall off their head? Jesus told them that God is so interested in the minute details about us that He knows when one hair falls down. God is so detailed about our lives because He is good. When you embrace the goodness of God by understanding that God's love towards us is immeasurable. Whilst reading today's passages my heart was refreshed as I read a very famous parable featuring the prodigal son.   Jesus tells us of two sons and a father. The younger son asked for his inheritance and left home leaving the elder son and his father.  The younger went to a faraway land and wasted his life. He soon was dead broke, deserted by his new found friends and looking for a job. He soon was working for a farmer feeding his pigs. His job must have been so mundane with low pay as he ate the food the...
