Appreciate One Another

One of the greatest issues today is unforgiveness. I believe it is the one reason why we don't appreciate one another. It is the reason many are disrespectful of others. If you ever listen to someone complaining about a friend who has hurt them you will rarely hear what they did wrong but you will hear everything about the other party. It's because unforgiveness acts like a blindfold obscuring your view of others and precluding your view of the whole. Friendship grows with friction, that's why tyres are made as such so that they hit the tarmac and produce friction on the road for a car to travel.

As I have been reflecting recently about life I have realised that too many friendships are relationships that are servant based and not real friendship. You know those friends who call only when they are in trouble, but if you are in trouble they are no where to be found; what about those people who are your friends when all is good but leave when you are poor. No wonder Solomon said that a rich man has many friends but a poor man has few friendships Proverbs 19:4. The world today is suffering from an acute shortage of friendships that go beyond the friction seen in relationships.

A good friend appreciates differences as the world would be a boring place if we all thought and behaved alike. God made us unique but don't allow your uniqueness to become an obstacle that hinders you from enjoying friendships. Too many people today only relate with people who are like them. Celebrate one another and let any fault we have be a bridge and not a T-junction. To all my friends I appreciate who you are to me and may God bless you richly for bearing with me.

  1. Excellent food for thought. Learning to appreciate others more and also learning to appreciate what else we have in our lives too. Thanks for sharing.

Now is....

Everyday I seek to share something that I have learnt through the daily reading. I make a choice to discipline myself not to write too much as we inundated with a lot of reading material. Feel free to add comments because that way we share and thus encourage one another to grow into the fullness of Christ. Today I am amazed at the fact that God will always remember His covenant and fulfill the promise. I want to list five words in the order they appear in one scripture that showed God is at work in our lives. Remembered : My God will never forget me. To be delayed is not to be denied as God will surely remember. God spoke and said to Sarah that He would return at the appointed time; at the right season!!! I do believe that we are in a season where we will see God begin to act on the promises that seem forgotten. Or better put in another way there is a resurrection of seemingly forgotten prophecies that is about to take place. Dry bones are beginning to take shape. Listened : No longer ...

Blessing or ....

To live well is one thing we all desire. I have never met anyone who did not want to live well. By living well for some people it means helping others. For others it means having a successful business. Yet for others it means travelling the world. I have discovered that it is not money that empowers but the blessing of God that empowers. Money is simply one of the many ways that the effects of the blessing may show up. Many times today in society we confuse money with being blessed yet people like Mother Teresa did not flaunt money but her life still is blessing many people round the world. The book of Deuteronomy has challenged me to desire to be blessed. Anyone who has walked with the blessing of God in their live has seen doors open that are a struggle for others. Yesterday I wrote about obedience. What obedience opens our lives to is the operation of the blessing. By choosing to obey the Word we are choosing to open our lives to be blessed. The purpose of being blessed is not self ...

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than ...
