God's Love

Everything we have in life is because of God's love towards us. Many times we are frustrated in life because we don't understand that God's love has settled every issue in life. Faith becomes easy to understand and walk in when you understand that God's love has already provided His goodness and mercy to you and I. Every promise and blessing of God is based on His love. I made a choice to love God not for what He has done or will do but because of who He is. It is because of who God is that He has done great things for you and I. We get frustrated in life because as human beings we love because of what we can get whereas we should love because who God is. Loving God for who He is makes loving Him easier and enjoyable.

You and I must walk in life knowing that there is nothing that can separate me from His love. God's love is so powerful that hard times, trouble, sickness, failure, success, prosperity, growth, people, environmental factors, economic factors, physiological reasons, psychological causes, natural acts of disaster, nothing can take me from the place of His love. Loving God for who He is helps me understand the basis of the assurance within Paul as he wrote to the church in Rome that there is nothing that can separate Him from the love of God Romans 8:31-39. Keep loving God....

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. Lessons From A Parable

Day 259 Reading: Luke 14:1 - Luke 16:31 The thoughts that God has for you are too many to be counted. Jesus while speaking asked the disciples if they knew the number of hairs that fall off their head? Jesus told them that God is so interested in the minute details about us that He knows when one hair falls down. God is so detailed about our lives because He is good. When you embrace the goodness of God by understanding that God's love towards us is immeasurable. Whilst reading today's passages my heart was refreshed as I read a very famous parable featuring the prodigal son.   Jesus tells us of two sons and a father. The younger son asked for his inheritance and left home leaving the elder son and his father.  The younger went to a faraway land and wasted his life.
