Keys to Victory

The days ahead will be awesome, wondrous and glorious days but only to those who choose to follow God wholly. As we come to the end of 2011 and enter a new season called 2012, my heart is concerned that many others and even myself may not see the fullness of what God has planned. You might wonder why I have included myself, but that is because I also have to pay the price if I want to win the prize allotted for me in 2012. I have made the choice to pay the price to succeed in all areas of endeavour.

One key to victory that will separate those who succeed from the rest is the ability to listen and hear God clearly. The days of depending on someone to hear God for you are over. God desires relationship with us but unfortunately we have relationships with everyone and everything else apart from our Creator. Even when we say we have a relationship with Him too many times we have shallow relationships with Him that cannot sustain the new season we are about to enter. Too many of us know about God but don't know God. Too many of us have become second hand believers as we rely on others to hear God as we are tone deaf to what God is saying.

A second vital key is to seek first the Kingdom of God. Let your passions in life in 2012 be fuelled by your desire to see the Kingdom of God manifested everywhere. Let your mind, heart, actions be consumed by the zeal of God to see His Kingdom and purposes established. Be hungry and thirsty for Him like never before. Only those who are lit by God will shine brightly and the key to being lit by God is to be one who passionately pursues Him. Let your life be one of worship to God and soon others will chase you asking about your God for He will manifest Himself supremely, superbly,  and superlatively in your life. Have a great 2012 and I hope to see you on the winning side. May every blessing of God come your way in 2012.

A better tomorrow

Everyone is hopeful for a better tomorrow. That's why we say "Good morning" at the start of the day. It's an indicator of the hope within that welcomes the dawning of a new day to bring better fortunes our way. God's mercies are new every morning and His compassion does not fail. When faced with adversity it becomes harder to see a better tomorrow, but resilient people are focused on the fact that trouble is only a comma in the sentence of life. At a time where fear has gripped many hearts because of various reasons, it is difficult to remain hopeful. Without hope, you cannot have the faith necessary to live. Faith is the substance of what is hoped for. Faith gives hope tangibility. To be without hope is to open the door of low living. Hopelessness is the start of damnation in life. You and I were born for a reason. We are not just statistics, making up numbers in any particular nation. You and I were born to reign in life. That situation that has so far made...

Lessons From A Parable

Day 259 Reading: Luke 14:1 - Luke 16:31 The thoughts that God has for you are too many to be counted. Jesus while speaking asked the disciples if they knew the number of hairs that fall off their head? Jesus told them that God is so interested in the minute details about us that He knows when one hair falls down. God is so detailed about our lives because He is good. When you embrace the goodness of God by understanding that God's love towards us is immeasurable. Whilst reading today's passages my heart was refreshed as I read a very famous parable featuring the prodigal son.   Jesus tells us of two sons and a father. The younger son asked for his inheritance and left home leaving the elder son and his father.  The younger went to a faraway land and wasted his life. He soon was dead broke, deserted by his new found friends and looking for a job. He soon was working for a farmer feeding his pigs. His job must have been so mundane with low pay as he ate the food the...

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than ...
