A Letter to a Friend

Dear Friend,

After our conversation I decided to write to you and encourage you. It's been a while since I wrote a letter but your tears brought me to tears as I felt your pain. Everyone has a fight in their hands one day or other. Let God fight on your behalf as He is the Creator and fully understands our aches and pains.

Challenging circumstances in whatever shape or form they come create only darkness. Darkness that seems to make everything else void and of null effect. You know that darkness that even when someone is trying to encourage you all your mind is saying is you don't understand!! Whatever your situation is right now, I want to hold your hand and extend a hug with these few pointers of encouragement.

Firstly, don't lose hope. The enemy knows that once hope is gone from within, you are simply a sitting duck that will be ticked off this cycle of life. Without hope you cannot have faith Hebrews 11:1. Look up to God not the situation Psalms 121:1-2.

Secondly, whatever the challenge always bear in mind that it has an expiry date. The Psalmist writing in Psalms 23:4 speaks of walking through a valley of the shadow of death. The Psalmist says he was walking through it and in life you must have the mindset that one is walking through whatever situation of difficulty you face. It may take long sometimes but always remember God makes all things beautiful even that situation that looks like the shadow of death.

Thirdly, maintain an attitude of praise. Complaining of the bad times or thinking that you are forgotten is lethal. God will always be near one whose tongue and mind is filled with praise. Praise creates an atmosphere for God. Complaining or  being negative creates darkness in the shape of depression, oppression and suppression. Be thankful, grateful that you are not six feet under even in the midst of the trial. Remember that God is enthroned in the praises of His children Psalms 22:3. Build the throne of God in your life through praise to Him even in the midst of trouble!!

Keep smiling and always remember that your friends will always encourage you to look to God at all times. You are a winner and am glad to be used to encourage you. May God's blessings shower you always.

Blessings,

CK

A better tomorrow

Everyone is hopeful for a better tomorrow. That's why we say "Good morning" at the start of the day. It's an indicator of the hope within that welcomes the dawning of a new day to bring better fortunes our way. God's mercies are new every morning and His compassion does not fail. When faced with adversity it becomes harder to see a better tomorrow, but resilient people are focused on the fact that trouble is only a comma in the sentence of life. At a time where fear has gripped many hearts because of various reasons, it is difficult to remain hopeful. Without hope, you cannot have the faith necessary to live. Faith is the substance of what is hoped for. Faith gives hope tangibility. To be without hope is to open the door of low living. Hopelessness is the start of damnation in life. You and I were born for a reason. We are not just statistics, making up numbers in any particular nation. You and I were born to reign in life. That situation that has so far made...

Lessons From A Parable

Day 259 Reading: Luke 14:1 - Luke 16:31 The thoughts that God has for you are too many to be counted. Jesus while speaking asked the disciples if they knew the number of hairs that fall off their head? Jesus told them that God is so interested in the minute details about us that He knows when one hair falls down. God is so detailed about our lives because He is good. When you embrace the goodness of God by understanding that God's love towards us is immeasurable. Whilst reading today's passages my heart was refreshed as I read a very famous parable featuring the prodigal son.   Jesus tells us of two sons and a father. The younger son asked for his inheritance and left home leaving the elder son and his father.  The younger went to a faraway land and wasted his life. He soon was dead broke, deserted by his new found friends and looking for a job. He soon was working for a farmer feeding his pigs. His job must have been so mundane with low pay as he ate the food the...

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than ...
