Breathe On Me

Where would one be without breath? Have ever been underwater for long enough to come up gasping for air!! Dying to breathe-what an anomaly of an expression, for what is not breathing is considered dead. How many times do we look at life's situations and wonder where the life is? May be your first part of the year was one saddled with lifeless situations that just made you despair. You may even feel life is really dead in certain quarters. I just want you to realise that as long as you are still alive that situation can become alive.

In Genesis chapter 2 we meet a story of creation where God made man but until He breathed into him he was lifeless. Once God breathed into man He became a living soul. How do we deal with lifeless situations?
  1. Appreciate the little that you have, however little it is. Many times we complain about something and lose focus on the many other things that are working for us. Think about you may have many shoes to go to work and cant get a job but some one else is in a hospital bed and cant lift a leg.
  2. Patience and process. Many times we want it all now. Yet God is interested in the process of life. Never expect a garden to be beautiful without hard work. Why do we expect life to be different from our gardens? Life is a garden we have to work the process as we see the seeds turn into flowers and grass. Part of the process involves removing weeds that would destroy the outcome.
  3. Pray. Commit to God the Master of Creation. He didn't breathe into animals but He breathed into mankind. Prayer brings one to the environment of the Giver of life. Anywhere God breathed on anyone life was fruitful.
  4. Don't give up. Thomas Edison believed that he could create a light bulb. He experiment ed with thousands of resources in an attempt to get a bulb that would work for a day. When he succeed it was because he believed that he could give people a light bulb. You have a "light bulb" to give mankind. Dont give up!!!
My prayer is that the second half of the year will be full of the God kind of life. May whatever in your life appears dead arise as the Giver of Life breathes on you. Fruitfulness awaits you as you believe that God is able to turn the situation around.

A better tomorrow

Everyone is hopeful for a better tomorrow. That's why we say "Good morning" at the start of the day. It's an indicator of the hope within that welcomes the dawning of a new day to bring better fortunes our way. God's mercies are new every morning and His compassion does not fail. When faced with adversity it becomes harder to see a better tomorrow, but resilient people are focused on the fact that trouble is only a comma in the sentence of life. At a time where fear has gripped many hearts because of various reasons, it is difficult to remain hopeful. Without hope, you cannot have the faith necessary to live. Faith is the substance of what is hoped for. Faith gives hope tangibility. To be without hope is to open the door of low living. Hopelessness is the start of damnation in life. You and I were born for a reason. We are not just statistics, making up numbers in any particular nation. You and I were born to reign in life. That situation that has so far made...

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than ...

Lessons From A Parable

Day 259 Reading: Luke 14:1 - Luke 16:31 The thoughts that God has for you are too many to be counted. Jesus while speaking asked the disciples if they knew the number of hairs that fall off their head? Jesus told them that God is so interested in the minute details about us that He knows when one hair falls down. God is so detailed about our lives because He is good. When you embrace the goodness of God by understanding that God's love towards us is immeasurable. Whilst reading today's passages my heart was refreshed as I read a very famous parable featuring the prodigal son.   Jesus tells us of two sons and a father. The younger son asked for his inheritance and left home leaving the elder son and his father.  The younger went to a faraway land and wasted his life. He soon was dead broke, deserted by his new found friends and looking for a job. He soon was working for a farmer feeding his pigs. His job must have been so mundane with low pay as he ate the food the...
