You Can Do It

The book of Genesis is replete with stories of men and women who faced impossibilities and yet saw them became possibilities. Look at Adam and Eve. Their son was murdered by his brother. God sends Cain away, but how is the earth to be populated? They had to have another son, Seth. May be your dreams lie dead and buried. May be you have lost everything, but I want to encourage you that you can start all over again and make it very well.

Look at Abraham and Sarah. No child, but with everything else going for them. Yet at 90 she gave birth. Don't allow the world or anyone to speak death to your dream. Sarah laughed at 90 am sure amused at a God who didn't look at the age as anything to stop Him from giving Sarah her promise. It's never too late to achieve your dream. Jacob was conned by his father in law but refused to give up. Rebekah when childless refused to believe that she would be barren but held onto the covenant promise that she would mother mighty descendants for their lineage. Joseph saw his dream fulfilled even though he passed through a pit and a prison before the palace.

How do it I do it again?
  1. Plan: It took preparation is important when setting out on a journey. Abraham stepped out to sacrifice Isaac with all he needed. Wherever God is leading you plan before you go. No sports personality ever made it big without developing themselves for the race.
  2. Have faith: No one ever made it with God without faith. If your faith is lacking develop it. Faith is not mental assent. Too many people think mental assent is faith but faith is of the heart.
  3. Move: No point talking about your plans and not fulfilling them. Abraham moved to the place God told him. Jacob stepped into the place of his calling and saw his name change. Step out and step into your dreams and see your name change from failure to success.
  4. Be thankful. Even Noah was grateful that the waters had receded. Be grateful for every small step as you step out.
The world is waiting for you. Imagine if Eve never had another child....my what a dilemma for God!! But God has put it within us the capacity to arise above every challenge as we place out hands into His awesome hands.

A better tomorrow

Everyone is hopeful for a better tomorrow. That's why we say "Good morning" at the start of the day. It's an indicator of the hope within that welcomes the dawning of a new day to bring better fortunes our way. God's mercies are new every morning and His compassion does not fail. When faced with adversity it becomes harder to see a better tomorrow, but resilient people are focused on the fact that trouble is only a comma in the sentence of life. At a time where fear has gripped many hearts because of various reasons, it is difficult to remain hopeful. Without hope, you cannot have the faith necessary to live. Faith is the substance of what is hoped for. Faith gives hope tangibility. To be without hope is to open the door of low living. Hopelessness is the start of damnation in life. You and I were born for a reason. We are not just statistics, making up numbers in any particular nation. You and I were born to reign in life. That situation that has so far made...

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than ...

Lessons From A Parable

Day 259 Reading: Luke 14:1 - Luke 16:31 The thoughts that God has for you are too many to be counted. Jesus while speaking asked the disciples if they knew the number of hairs that fall off their head? Jesus told them that God is so interested in the minute details about us that He knows when one hair falls down. God is so detailed about our lives because He is good. When you embrace the goodness of God by understanding that God's love towards us is immeasurable. Whilst reading today's passages my heart was refreshed as I read a very famous parable featuring the prodigal son.   Jesus tells us of two sons and a father. The younger son asked for his inheritance and left home leaving the elder son and his father.  The younger went to a faraway land and wasted his life. He soon was dead broke, deserted by his new found friends and looking for a job. He soon was working for a farmer feeding his pigs. His job must have been so mundane with low pay as he ate the food the...
