New Beginnings

I woke up with an excitement that a new day is beginning in my life. This scripture came to mind "Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." Isaiah 43:19. I believe that even in the midst of all the changes or challenges we are all undergoing whether individually, corporately, racially, regionally, nationally or as the entire world God has a new day for you and I. To step into the new day one has to be prepared for it. As I wrote this blog, a friend called to let me know that his wife had been put to bed early and the baby had arrived early. Guess what they were ready for the new arrival. Many times we miss out on the new thing that God has prepared for us because we are not ready. Life is to believed prepared for greatness.

To thoroughly enjoy this new day we need a new mindset. Many people want a new beginning in life and they do believe every day is new start but their mindsets are killing them and not softly as Lauren Hill sang. In today's world many are fossilizing by expecting that the thinking of the past will get them to the top today. You must renew your mind to appreciate new thinking. A new mindset is not moving the goal posts of values but an appreciation of new ways of solving challenges. A new mindset ensures that I am not obsolete; it guarantees my being versatile and productive in the midst of change. Too many times the mind has stopped us from possessing our dreams. A new mindset doesn't dwell on limitations but on the possibilities that lie ahead.  For too long Abraham was known as fatherless but when God changed his name he began to build a picture of descendants where there was no hope before. Begin to paint a new picture in your mind of the possibilities that the new day is bringing to you. Build your faith for the new beginning by meditating on the Word to renew your mind to see as God sees Rom 12:2. Don't conform to those around, be a transformer wherever you go by first having your mind renewed. A transformed life begins with a transformed mind.

A new beginning will require a new heart. Life may have been bitter; friends may have deserted you and I; people may have let us down; circumstances may have hurt us; life generally may have been cruel to but guess what all that garbage in the heart will be toxic to the new place we are going. Garbage within will soon be garbage without!! It's important that we detox our hearts of the aches and pains that we may encounter in life. The heart pumps the blood that flows through each and everyone of us; to have a contaminated heart is to pump contamination through your life for really your life is in your blood. I have made up my mind that for where am going I will enter this place with a new heart, a heart of praise and not complaining, a heart of expectation and not apprehension; a heart of optimism and not limitation; a heart of love and not hatred; a heart of joy and not gloominess; a heart of thanksgiving and not moaning; an open and willing heart and not a closed heart to the divine orchestrations that God is bringing my way. God has promised to give me a new heart and to place within me a new spirit Ezekiel 36:26. My prayer is God give me a new heart in readiness for the new place You are taking me!!

A new day is here, rejoice and be glad at what is about to transpire in and around you.

"Pay close attention now: I'm creating new heavens and a new earth. All the earlier troubles, chaos, and pain are things of the past, to be forgotten. Look ahead with joy. Anticipate what I'm creating: I create Jerusalem as a pure joy, create my people as a pure delight." Isaiah 65:17-18(MSG)

Now is....

Everyday I seek to share something that I have learnt through the daily reading. I make a choice to discipline myself not to write too much as we inundated with a lot of reading material. Feel free to add comments because that way we share and thus encourage one another to grow into the fullness of Christ. Today I am amazed at the fact that God will always remember His covenant and fulfill the promise. I want to list five words in the order they appear in one scripture that showed God is at work in our lives. Remembered : My God will never forget me. To be delayed is not to be denied as God will surely remember. God spoke and said to Sarah that He would return at the appointed time; at the right season!!! I do believe that we are in a season where we will see God begin to act on the promises that seem forgotten. Or better put in another way there is a resurrection of seemingly forgotten prophecies that is about to take place. Dry bones are beginning to take shape. Listened : No longer ...

Blessing or ....

To live well is one thing we all desire. I have never met anyone who did not want to live well. By living well for some people it means helping others. For others it means having a successful business. Yet for others it means travelling the world. I have discovered that it is not money that empowers but the blessing of God that empowers. Money is simply one of the many ways that the effects of the blessing may show up. Many times today in society we confuse money with being blessed yet people like Mother Teresa did not flaunt money but her life still is blessing many people round the world. The book of Deuteronomy has challenged me to desire to be blessed. Anyone who has walked with the blessing of God in their live has seen doors open that are a struggle for others. Yesterday I wrote about obedience. What obedience opens our lives to is the operation of the blessing. By choosing to obey the Word we are choosing to open our lives to be blessed. The purpose of being blessed is not self ...

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than ...
