I Am Persuaded

You only do what you do because you have placed some form of value to it. For example, I believe in God and therefore see my life through His view point as I am convinced that a God centred life is fulfilling and purposeful. Recently I was reminded that in life we are in agreement either with the circumstances of life or with the convictions within that generate hope for a better tomorrow. I just need to jot down some persuasions and address the many circumstances in life that are attempting to speak.
  • I am persuaded that God is God. No arguments or disputes about who God is; He is God.
  • I am persuaded that God is in control. The world may not think so, the news may not show it but God is in total charge of the earth and heavens.
  • I am persuaded that God is able to do what I commit to Him 2 Timothy 1:12b. Irrespective of what life has offered, irrespective of the challenges I have faced, irrespective of what appears to be impossible, irrespective of the tough times we are living in, I am convinced that God is able to do what I require of Him.
  • I am persuaded that God's purpose for me is better than any good idea that life may present. His Word is clear that His plans are for good, health and well being Jeremiah 29:11. Why chase anything less than that?
  • I am persuaded and convinced that God's order is the best. A life lived outside the orderliness of God is a life without the covering provided by order. When you operate under a canopy of order you find things easily, ask anyone who has a messy work table. God's order creates symmetry between promise and fulfilment.
  • I am persuaded that God's wisdom is the best antidote to living life. God created the world, holds it together by His wisdom; why should I not use His wisdom to be fulfilled in life. I purposed to seek His wisdom continually to supplement the knowledge that we human beings have acquired as I pursue destiny in uplifting lives that are wounded.
  • I am persuaded that God is mindful of me even when life sometimes seems lonely and unappealing Psalms 8:4. God is my reward and supplier.
  • I am persuaded that God wants me to eat the good of the land. God did not design me for struggling through life; He designed me to succeed and prosper in all areas of life. I am designed for success and not failure.
I, like Abraham, am fully convinced that what God has promised, He is able to fulfill it Romans 4:21.

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than ...

Lessons From A Parable

Day 259 Reading: Luke 14:1 - Luke 16:31 The thoughts that God has for you are too many to be counted. Jesus while speaking asked the disciples if they knew the number of hairs that fall off their head? Jesus told them that God is so interested in the minute details about us that He knows when one hair falls down. God is so detailed about our lives because He is good. When you embrace the goodness of God by understanding that God's love towards us is immeasurable. Whilst reading today's passages my heart was refreshed as I read a very famous parable featuring the prodigal son.   Jesus tells us of two sons and a father. The younger son asked for his inheritance and left home leaving the elder son and his father.  The younger went to a faraway land and wasted his life. He soon was dead broke, deserted by his new found friends and looking for a job. He soon was working for a farmer feeding his pigs. His job must have been so mundane with low pay as he ate the food the...

Berachah

Day 126 Reading: 2 Chronicles 20:1 - 2 Chronicles 22:12 While meditating on the above portion of scriptures hope was rising within as I realised that God is indeed more than able to fight for me. I don't know what is ailing you or contending with your well being. What I know is that God is able to resolve the crisis for good. King Jehoshaphat was advised that a great army was coming to fight him. Fear gripped him and he ran to God. He summoned the entire nation to seek the face of God. While he made prayer for salvation from the enemy the entire nation including children were together fasting in prayer. He understood that in trouble one should run to God. The king didn't run to other nations to fight for him. Nope, He ran to God. Run to God always. In the midst of an entire nation seeking God, a prophet arose who declared the counsel of God. The battle belongs to God. Always remind yourself that in every battle God is with you. The prophet even instructed where...
