Get Ready

I have not blogged for the last 7 days for many reasons. One is because I felt a need to take time out and just recharge myself. Also I perceive that the spiritual atmosphere is changing. God is about to do something and I need to position myself for what He wants me to do. Divine opportunities fall onto those who are prepared.

I have in the last few days had one word popping into my mind: ATTITUDE. I believe that there is an arising about to take place in many peoples lives. I believe that God's light is about to shine on those who have sat in darkness Micah 7:8-9 waiting on Him who enlightens the darkness Ps 18:28 because He is The Light. Your arising though will be affected by your attitude.

The story of Jonah is one that touches me about the attitude to have when pursuing destiny. This gentleman choose to run away from God instead of obeying God. The story in the last chapter of the book of Jonah shows him complaining and being appreciative of God's mercy.

Here was a man who feared God yet had an attitude problem. Here was a gent who was unhappy that God was merciful. He was sad that God sent him all that way and he did not get the reaction that he wanted. God will choose mercy over judgement when one repents.

Check you heart and ask yourself why you do what you do? Serve out of love and purity and get ready to see God goodness flow through your life in ways never seen before. A great attitude leads to great heights of greatness. A lousy attitude leads to drudgery in life.

Get ready by developing the right attitude.

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than ...

Lessons From A Parable

Day 259 Reading: Luke 14:1 - Luke 16:31 The thoughts that God has for you are too many to be counted. Jesus while speaking asked the disciples if they knew the number of hairs that fall off their head? Jesus told them that God is so interested in the minute details about us that He knows when one hair falls down. God is so detailed about our lives because He is good. When you embrace the goodness of God by understanding that God's love towards us is immeasurable. Whilst reading today's passages my heart was refreshed as I read a very famous parable featuring the prodigal son.   Jesus tells us of two sons and a father. The younger son asked for his inheritance and left home leaving the elder son and his father.  The younger went to a faraway land and wasted his life. He soon was dead broke, deserted by his new found friends and looking for a job. He soon was working for a farmer feeding his pigs. His job must have been so mundane with low pay as he ate the food the...

Berachah

Day 126 Reading: 2 Chronicles 20:1 - 2 Chronicles 22:12 While meditating on the above portion of scriptures hope was rising within as I realised that God is indeed more than able to fight for me. I don't know what is ailing you or contending with your well being. What I know is that God is able to resolve the crisis for good. King Jehoshaphat was advised that a great army was coming to fight him. Fear gripped him and he ran to God. He summoned the entire nation to seek the face of God. While he made prayer for salvation from the enemy the entire nation including children were together fasting in prayer. He understood that in trouble one should run to God. The king didn't run to other nations to fight for him. Nope, He ran to God. Run to God always. In the midst of an entire nation seeking God, a prophet arose who declared the counsel of God. The battle belongs to God. Always remind yourself that in every battle God is with you. The prophet even instructed where...
