On Time

Sometimes in life we find ourselves in a place that's between a rock and a hard place. That place can be defined as a place where on a miracle can turn things around. In such moments I have come to discover that only a divine encounter can turn around the situation. There are many things that can be said about such circumstances but I want to focus on one thing today and that is the fact that God is always on time. He is never late.

Look at Mary and Martha in John 11 who sent for Jesus as their brother and Jesus' friend Lazarus was sick. The limitation they had placed that the only time a miracle could be worked was while Lazarus was ill was destroyed when Jesus appeared 4 days after Lazarus had died and apparently out of time for a miracle He gave them one. God is never late even if the situation or person is dead.

Remember Abraham and Sarah, they were without a child and it never seemed like they would ever have a child. But they held onto the promise of God and at 90 years of age Sarah gave birth to Isaac. Her dream to hold a child of her own may have become a mirage as years passed but thanks be to God who indeed filled her mouth with laughter. In spite of the delay in seeing her desire as per human timing she still held her son as promised by God. To be delayed is not to be denied.

I don't know where you are in life, whether you in the valley or at the mountain top either way you will need to have it settled that God will be on time. God has never been late; ask Joseph who thought he was forgotten in jail but moved from prison to palace. See Gideon, who considered himself the least of the least but discovered that he was on God's agenda for leadership and spearheaded a turn around for his people. The bible is filled with examples of God being on time. Settle it in your heart and mind that even though the circumstances may rage God is still going to be on time. Expect God to move on your behalf as He surely will.

A better tomorrow

Everyone is hopeful for a better tomorrow. That's why we say "Good morning" at the start of the day. It's an indicator of the hope within that welcomes the dawning of a new day to bring better fortunes our way. God's mercies are new every morning and His compassion does not fail. When faced with adversity it becomes harder to see a better tomorrow, but resilient people are focused on the fact that trouble is only a comma in the sentence of life. At a time where fear has gripped many hearts because of various reasons, it is difficult to remain hopeful. Without hope, you cannot have the faith necessary to live. Faith is the substance of what is hoped for. Faith gives hope tangibility. To be without hope is to open the door of low living. Hopelessness is the start of damnation in life. You and I were born for a reason. We are not just statistics, making up numbers in any particular nation. You and I were born to reign in life. That situation that has so far made...

Lessons From A Parable

Day 259 Reading: Luke 14:1 - Luke 16:31 The thoughts that God has for you are too many to be counted. Jesus while speaking asked the disciples if they knew the number of hairs that fall off their head? Jesus told them that God is so interested in the minute details about us that He knows when one hair falls down. God is so detailed about our lives because He is good. When you embrace the goodness of God by understanding that God's love towards us is immeasurable. Whilst reading today's passages my heart was refreshed as I read a very famous parable featuring the prodigal son.   Jesus tells us of two sons and a father. The younger son asked for his inheritance and left home leaving the elder son and his father.  The younger went to a faraway land and wasted his life. He soon was dead broke, deserted by his new found friends and looking for a job. He soon was working for a farmer feeding his pigs. His job must have been so mundane with low pay as he ate the food the...

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than ...
