Preparation

The year is coming to an end; somehow the end seems closer than ever. Days just seem to be flying and as a friend told me life is moving faster than the speed of light. Recently, I woke up with the thought of what do I need to do to succeed in the coming year. Many have began planning for the glorious days they desire to see ahead but all the plans will be of no use without this one key, namely PREPARATION.

Every chef will tell you that the secret to an excellent meal is in the preparation of the ingredients. Preparation is the key to successful execution of plans not just in the kitchen of a Michelin restaurant but even in life. As one prepares to enter the new year preparation will take many forms. One very important aspect of this will be the closure of matters that can easily be a distraction going forward. One cannot plan properly without closing matters that need to be put away in 2011. Don't allow the issues of the past to hinder your future Isaiah 43:18-19. As you prepare for 2012 take on the attitude of Paul who chose to forget those things that were behind and reach forward to those things that are ahead.

Everyday I seek to share something that I have learnt through the daily reading. I make a choice to discipline myself not to write too much as we inundated with a lot of reading material. Feel free to add comments because that way we share and thus encourage one another to grow into the fullness of Christ. Today I am amazed at the fact that God will always remember His covenant and fulfill the promise. I want to list five words in the order they appear in one scripture that showed God is at work in our lives. Remembered : My God will never forget me. Blessing or ....

To live well is one thing we all desire. I have never met anyone who did not want to live well. By living well for some people it means helping others. For others it means having a successful business. Yet for others it means travelling the world. I have discovered that it is not money that empowers but the blessing of God that empowers. Money is simply one of the many ways that the effects of the blessing may show up. Many times today in society we confuse money with being blessed yet people like Mother Teresa did not flaunt money but her life still is blessing many people round the world. The book of Deuteronomy has challenged me to desire to be blessed. Anyone who has walked with the blessing of God in their live has seen doors open that are a struggle for others. Yesterday I wrote about obedience. What obedience opens our lives to is the operation of the blessing. By choosing to obey the Word we are choosing to open our lives to be blessed. A better tomorrow

Everyone is hopeful for a better tomorrow. That's why we say "Good morning" at the start of the day. It's an indicator of the hope within that welcomes the dawning of a new day to bring better fortunes our way. God's mercies are new every morning and His compassion does not fail. When faced with adversity it becomes harder to see a better tomorrow, but resilient people are focused on the fact that trouble is only a comma in the sentence of life. At a time where fear has gripped many hearts because of various reasons, it is difficult to remain hopeful. Without hope, you cannot have the faith necessary to live. Faith is the substance of what is hoped for. Faith gives hope tangibility. To be without hope is to open the door of low living. Hopelessness is the start of damnation in life.
