Perception

Day 18 Reading: Ex. 5:1-Ex.7:25 The fight of mankind is whom do we worship. Moses didn't go Pharaoh to ask for the people to leave Eygpt for no other reason except to worship God. Live a life that worships God and no one else. Pharaoh had no regard for God. When entering battle understand that the enemy has no regard for God. He tried to usurp God's order in the Garden of Eden so don't expect the enemy to play a fair game. Pharaoh soon made the working conditions for the children of Israel to be harsher than before. The enemy won't allow anyone to worship God without a fight.  As one sent of God understand that certain times before things get better they will turn for worse.   Moses was a man of prayer. When things got worse he went to the place of prayer. He didn't come up with the 10 things to get Pharaoh to like the children of Israel. He didn't collect an offering. Nope, he went to God in prayer. God had already told him that Pharaoh wouldn'...

Drawn Out of Water

Day 17 Reading: Exodus 1:1- Exodus 4:31 Life is full of seasons. A new king comes on the scene and has no recollection of Joseph and was concerned that these immigrants had spread all over. The cycles of life, day and night, up and down, mean that we must learn to live in all seasons. Lord help me know the timing of every season in my life. The children of Israel didn't realise that their clock was set for the time to leave Egypt. However, in the midst of the oppression fruitfulness was manifesting in the children of Israel. May I always be fruitful in tough times.  Abraham had been told by God that the children of Israel would reside in Egypt for 400 years Genesis.15:13-14. We aren't told if the children of Israel were reminded of this promise. We don't know of any prophetic voices sent to them however we are told of the sufferings. God may appear silent but He is working it out. Learn to recount to yourself the promises of God while waiting for the manifestat...

The Power of the Blessing

Day 16 Reading: Gen. 48:1-Gen. 50:26 Always remember the promises of God and learn to recount them to your children. Jacob had a personal encounter that led to the blessing of God over his life. May I have a definite divine encounter that changes my story! There is power in the blessing of a blessed person. When God's hand is on a person they carry a potency to bless generations altering generations. Jacob imparted a blessing on Ephraim and Manasseh moving them from one generational level to that of their uncles. He moved them to be in the lineage and the flow of the blessing that was from Abraham to Isaac to Jacob and would transcend to Jacob's children. Learn to decree blessings on your children. Convey the blessings of God to them. Ephraim had a double blessing. He moved from being the second born to the front. God will always lift that which is not primary to the top. Your spirit man will rise above the carnal man which is born first. 'Charles, there is...

Father and Son Restored

Day 15 Reading Gen. 46:1- Gen. 47:31 In every step of life learn to seek the favour of God. Jacob went to Beersheba a place where Abraham made a covenant with Abimelech and called on God; the same place where Isaac's servants found a well and gave the place the name and for Jacob, this was the place he was before he went to have the encounter with God in Bethel.  The restoration of the sons and daughters to the Father is vital for the well being of today. Today, many are living life without a relationship with the Father. God's greatest desire is the restoration of our relationship with Him.  Joseph had been prepared for the days that would come. He knew the customs of the day of the people whom he lived with. How many times do we carry our village thinking to the new place and expect to operate our village mindset yet have no understanding of the customs of the land? Interest in the peoples' customs in the land where you reside will result in favour! W...

The One Thought Of As Dead Is Alive

Day 14 Reading Gen. 43:1-Gen. 45:28 Honesty in all dealings is something God loves and expects of me. Jacob expected his sons to have not spoken about the family, however, what if they lied and never mentioned that they had a brother with the father?Would the story have been the same? Being crafty in the name of hiding information may look wise at that moment however it could be costly. Learn to appreciate those who do well. A gift makes room like no other. Jacob understood that the ruler his sons spoke of was a person with authority and had blessed them by giving them plenty of food. He wanted that person appreciated. He also had the integrity to tell them to take back the money they should have paid for the food the previous occasion. Leaders look at such characteristics to see where your integrity is.  The brothers went to buy food and suddenly were invited to dine with the ruler. May God cause such favour to be my story. Buyers of food was the title the brother...

God is Working It Out

Day 13 Gen. 40:1- Gen. 42:38 God sees the bigger picture. Many a time I don't see the bigger picture and that makes trusting God in the process so difficult. Joseph found himself now not only a slave but a prisoner. While in prison two inmates are brought and soon they have a dream and Joseph in his humility understood that God is the custodian of knowledge and secrets. No matter the gift bestowed by God understand that God is to be honoured always. Every time when faced with a situation lean on the counsel and interpretation of God.  Joseph hoped that the bigwigs he had ministered to would provide a way out for him. He knew he didn't deserve to be in prison, however, that situation or challenge currently is only for a season. It's to prepare you for the greater good. 'Charles, use moments where you are in a fight to develop a godly character. Don't worry that you seem forgotten by those you have helped. There is a day they will have to remember you....

The Dreamer and his dream

Day 12 Reading: Gen. 37:1-Gen. 39:23 We all have dreams. Whether its the beginning of the year or start of a business, we all have a dream. I dream of making an impact to change generations, to repeal darkness from our lives that our lights may shine ever brighter. Joseph was loved by his dad, Jacob. Jacob loved his mum more than Leah so not surprised that he was cherished more than the other sons. However, I also think that the father saw something special in Joseph that made him recognise him with a special tunic. The father's special attention brought discord. Learn to love your children alike. Be careful who you share your dreams with. I have failed this article of life many a time. Joseph and I suffer from the same disease, verbiosis- made up for telling too much. It's never too late to learn to be quiet and not announce every dream to everyone. Learn to keep quiet. Let me hear of what is happening from the news. Any construction will have a wall around it...
