A New Name

Well done to everyone who is walking through this journey. I want to first congratulate you for daring to start this adventure. Whether you are at the beginning of reading for day 1 or at the end of day 2 you are worthy of congratulations. Always remember that not many people start on a dream. They just dream or talk. At least you have began doing something and that is worthy of appreciation. Always remember that we are here to encourage one another through this lifetime opportunity of reading the world's best seller of all time: the Bible. So dont give up or give in! Press on,great tresures lie ahead awaiting our discoveries.

The bible is not only about God's love for man but it's about God introducing Himself to mankind. In today's reading God introduced Himself to Abram as the All Sufficient One.-Almighty. During this encounter the names of the participants were changed into covenant names that set them on a flight path of destiny. Notice all this time God has introduced the promise to them of a son but He became personal in this covenant encounter that He showed them a different side of His nature revealing a different name. This change of name revealed a change in season. Whenever God introduces Himself we see a different dimension of glory.

Yesterday I noted how God is God of process. Part of this process in Abraham's case was to change his mindset by changing his name. You respond to what you are called. Being called Abraham activated faith for a promise seed that was lying within. For the seed to grow, as the Word is seed, you must cultivate, nurture and protect it. By agreeing to speak the language of The All Sufficient One you are saying that nothing is too hard for Him and thereby developing the seed.

I encourage you to press on. Sarah was told of an appointed season, may this season be your appointed season to pursue, overtake and recover all that God has destined for you. Now is the season for your name to be changed. May you walk in the fullness of the name heaven has over your life. When God changed Abram to Abraham and Sarai to Sarah He was announcing to them that they were coming out of the pit they were in. I want to introduce to you one thought that has stayed with me all day today "I Am Coming Out!" This couple came out of a prison called unfulfilled expectations and entered the land of fulfillment. I am next....God bless.

A better tomorrow

Everyone is hopeful for a better tomorrow. That's why we say "Good morning" at the start of the day. It's an indicator of the hope within that welcomes the dawning of a new day to bring better fortunes our way. God's mercies are new every morning and His compassion does not fail. When faced with adversity it becomes harder to see a better tomorrow, but resilient people are focused on the fact that trouble is only a comma in the sentence of life. At a time where fear has gripped many hearts because of various reasons, it is difficult to remain hopeful. Without hope, you cannot have the faith necessary to live. Faith is the substance of what is hoped for. Faith gives hope tangibility. To be without hope is to open the door of low living. Hopelessness is the start of damnation in life. You and I were born for a reason. We are not just statistics, making up numbers in any particular nation. You and I were born to reign in life. That situation that has so far made...

Lessons From A Parable

Day 259 Reading: Luke 14:1 - Luke 16:31 The thoughts that God has for you are too many to be counted. Jesus while speaking asked the disciples if they knew the number of hairs that fall off their head? Jesus told them that God is so interested in the minute details about us that He knows when one hair falls down. God is so detailed about our lives because He is good. When you embrace the goodness of God by understanding that God's love towards us is immeasurable. Whilst reading today's passages my heart was refreshed as I read a very famous parable featuring the prodigal son.   Jesus tells us of two sons and a father. The younger son asked for his inheritance and left home leaving the elder son and his father.  The younger went to a faraway land and wasted his life. He soon was dead broke, deserted by his new found friends and looking for a job. He soon was working for a farmer feeding his pigs. His job must have been so mundane with low pay as he ate the food the...

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than ...
