God is Calling You

Day 197

Reading: Jeremiah 4:1 - Jeremiah 8:22

The difference between a storybook and the Bible is that the Bible comes alive. The Word of God comes alive in many ways. One way is that we receive a conviction in our hearts. This conviction is by the Holy Spirit pointing out an issue where we need to align with the standards of God. You see if your heart is not sensitive to the things of God you will not realise when God is trying to call you back to Him. My dear friend as I read the passage for today I came under conviction. Let me share what convicted me.

Firstly, God desires we break up the fallow ground of our hearts. Circumcise your heart and remove the skin that which is not needed. God desires we walk in covenant with Him. When God made a covenant with Abraham he made him circumcise all the males as a sign of the covenant God had made with him. The state of your heart reveals whether you have cut a covenant with God. Remove whatever is covering your heart and allow God to have your all.

Secondly, many today have listened to liars in the name of priests and prophets. These liars as Jeremiah calls them have prophesied peace yet peace was nowhere near. As I read this I asked myself whether I have encouraged someone to believe in what was wrong. Child of God the world is getting darker and darker by the day. Don't assume all will be the old days. Prepare yourself for a shaking of the nations. Nations that have forgotten God will soon realise who is God. The Psalmist declared that all nations will bow and worship God Psalms 86:9. Trouble is filling this earth and any believer whose trust is in God will discover that they are in trouble. Place your trust in God.

Thirdly, God is warning you and me of the failings of not being obedient to His Word. When we are going to church just to please yourself and not God then know that judgement is nearby. You and I need to understand that God is good however we cannot keep abusing His goodness and mercy thinking we can live as we please. God desires we amend our ways and walk uprightly. We must become willing to receive God's instruction without choosing what we want to hear or do. Remember God is the Judge and all our actions will be judged by Him. What may be pleasing you now may be annoying God and the consequences are there. I know we in this dispensation of grace will argue against this, however, God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Lastly, God desires you know that He is the Balm of Gilead where you will receive healing. My prayer is that every believer will run to the Balm of Gilead where you will receive healing in every area of life. God desires to heal you. Run to Him, ask Him the old paths and walk in them as you watch Him cause you to dwell in the land of greatness, health and joy.

Memory Verse: Jeremiah 6:16

Decree:

Jeremiah 7:5-7

For if you thoroughly amend your ways and your doings, if you thoroughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbor, if you do not oppress the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place, or walk after other gods to your hurt, then I will cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers forever and ever. (italics mine)

A better tomorrow

Everyone is hopeful for a better tomorrow. That's why we say "Good morning" at the start of the day. It's an indicator of the hope within that welcomes the dawning of a new day to bring better fortunes our way. God's mercies are new every morning and His compassion does not fail. When faced with adversity it becomes harder to see a better tomorrow, but resilient people are focused on the fact that trouble is only a comma in the sentence of life. At a time where fear has gripped many hearts because of various reasons, it is difficult to remain hopeful. Without hope, you cannot have the faith necessary to live. Faith is the substance of what is hoped for. Faith gives hope tangibility. To be without hope is to open the door of low living. Hopelessness is the start of damnation in life. You and I were born for a reason. We are not just statistics, making up numbers in any particular nation. You and I were born to reign in life. That situation that has so far made...

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than ...

Lessons From A Parable

Day 259 Reading: Luke 14:1 - Luke 16:31 The thoughts that God has for you are too many to be counted. Jesus while speaking asked the disciples if they knew the number of hairs that fall off their head? Jesus told them that God is so interested in the minute details about us that He knows when one hair falls down. God is so detailed about our lives because He is good. When you embrace the goodness of God by understanding that God's love towards us is immeasurable. Whilst reading today's passages my heart was refreshed as I read a very famous parable featuring the prodigal son.   Jesus tells us of two sons and a father. The younger son asked for his inheritance and left home leaving the elder son and his father.  The younger went to a faraway land and wasted his life. He soon was dead broke, deserted by his new found friends and looking for a job. He soon was working for a farmer feeding his pigs. His job must have been so mundane with low pay as he ate the food the...
