Relocation

Day 202

Reading: Jeremiah 22:1 - Jeremiah 26:24

Moving from one house to another house is a tedious situation. I am never excited about moving house. The whole process is taxing and one I just wish I could snap my fingers and its done. One of the things I have learnt over time is that God is God of relocation. God has the power to relocate you to the place He has designed for you. In studying the Book of Jeremiah I am discovering that we have a large role to play in our relocation with God.

Jeremiah prophesies to the children of Israel that due to their disobedience they would be relocated to the land of captivity. Disobedience triggers our relocating to the wilderness. The wilderness is a place of bondage where freedom is not there. Many today are not dwelling in the land of blessing but in the land of curses because of disobedience. God is not mocked and don't be deceived that sin is overlooked by God today. Disobedience to the Word of God does not bring greatness to your life.

God is a merciful God. We continually see in the Bible that even when He judges His mercy is never-ending. He sent Jeremiah to prophesy the captivity and destruction of Jerusalem yet He also gave him a promise of the rebuilding. Not only did God promise deliverance, He gave a timeline. As I was reading this passage of scripture it struck me that many times we are past the timeline of God. God told Abraham that the children of Israel would be in Egypt for 400 years. Yet they stayed there for 430 years. Is it that God was wrong? God cannot send a deliverer to His people until they cry to Him. When God sent Moses with the relocation plan He stated that the cry of the children had reached His ears. Has your cry for deliverance from captivity reached God's ears?

Jeremiah prophesied and stated that the children of Israel would be held captive for 70 years in Babylon. God promised to execute the captors and return His children to their land. I have an announcement I want to make over your life. Get ready for your relocation to the land God has ordained for you. Cry to Him and remind Him of His promise to plant and build you up in His land, where you will have a heart only for God and His ordinances. Returning to God opens the door to being relocated to the land of God.

Memory Verse: Jeremiah 24:6-7

A better tomorrow

Everyone is hopeful for a better tomorrow. That's why we say "Good morning" at the start of the day. It's an indicator of the hope within that welcomes the dawning of a new day to bring better fortunes our way. God's mercies are new every morning and His compassion does not fail. When faced with adversity it becomes harder to see a better tomorrow, but resilient people are focused on the fact that trouble is only a comma in the sentence of life. At a time where fear has gripped many hearts because of various reasons, it is difficult to remain hopeful. Without hope, you cannot have the faith necessary to live. Faith is the substance of what is hoped for. Faith gives hope tangibility. To be without hope is to open the door of low living. Hopelessness is the start of damnation in life. You and I were born for a reason. We are not just statistics, making up numbers in any particular nation. You and I were born to reign in life. That situation that has so far made...

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than ...

Lessons From A Parable

Day 259 Reading: Luke 14:1 - Luke 16:31 The thoughts that God has for you are too many to be counted. Jesus while speaking asked the disciples if they knew the number of hairs that fall off their head? Jesus told them that God is so interested in the minute details about us that He knows when one hair falls down. God is so detailed about our lives because He is good. When you embrace the goodness of God by understanding that God's love towards us is immeasurable. Whilst reading today's passages my heart was refreshed as I read a very famous parable featuring the prodigal son.   Jesus tells us of two sons and a father. The younger son asked for his inheritance and left home leaving the elder son and his father.  The younger went to a faraway land and wasted his life. He soon was dead broke, deserted by his new found friends and looking for a job. He soon was working for a farmer feeding his pigs. His job must have been so mundane with low pay as he ate the food the...
