Prophetic Grace

Day 195

Reading: Isaiah 65:1 - Isaiah 66:24

Isaiah was a prophet whom I greatly admire. Reading through the book of Isaiah and in various places in the Bible where he is mentioned, I have admired him. Here is a man whose prophetic ministry to the nation of Israel was without question powerful yet different. As we conclude this book today I was inspired to list a few things on the prophetic ministry of Isaiah.

  • Isaiah prophesied for at least 40 years. His ministry span covered 4 kings of Judah. Many today don't have longevity in ministry. We have to break this one-time wonder devil in ministry.
  • Isaiah's name means God is salvation which is actually the theme of this book. Isaiah's ministry was about God's plan of salvation. No other prophet prophesies so much about God's plan of salvation like Isaiah. Is your life about the salvation of God for men or a personal plan for yourself.
  • Isaiah lived a life given to God. The encounter where He is taken to the Throne of God and is commissioned left a deep mark. In life understand that God has turning points that draw you closer to Him. His obedience to God's instructions was unwavering. When God instructed Isaiah to do something he did without fail.
  • Isaiah prophesied to Kings, Nations, about the Messiah, and about the end times. Isaiah saw a new earth and new heavens. His prophetic ministry saw him see not only into the mercies of God regarding Israel but to also see what God was planning for nations around Israel. Allow God to use you wholesomely and not just to a localised level.
  • Isaiah didn't do the great wonders that Elijah and Elisha did. So many don't consider his ministry as great which is a lie of the enemy. Yes, he had miracles however he prophesied so much hope and encouragement at a time of turmoil. Yes, miracles are great however without hope miracles are not possible. Isaiah was a preacher of hope.
  • Isaiah saw the new heavens and new earth. God's desire is transformation. God's desire is to restore man to the world He made for him before satan came into the scene. Isaiah encourages believers to hold onto an eternal hope.
The days we are living in are in need of a new generation of Isaiah's to arise. People who will point people to God and encourage the world to trust God wholly. Isaiah's message is one of hope in God for salvation comes from none other. May this grace rest upon us.

Memory Verse: Isaiah 66:9

Decree:

Isaiah 65:24
“It shall come to pass that before they call, I will answer; and while they are still speaking, I will hear. (italics mine)

A better tomorrow

Everyone is hopeful for a better tomorrow. That's why we say "Good morning" at the start of the day. It's an indicator of the hope within that welcomes the dawning of a new day to bring better fortunes our way. God's mercies are new every morning and His compassion does not fail. When faced with adversity it becomes harder to see a better tomorrow, but resilient people are focused on the fact that trouble is only a comma in the sentence of life. At a time where fear has gripped many hearts because of various reasons, it is difficult to remain hopeful. Without hope, you cannot have the faith necessary to live. Faith is the substance of what is hoped for. Faith gives hope tangibility. To be without hope is to open the door of low living. Hopelessness is the start of damnation in life. You and I were born for a reason. We are not just statistics, making up numbers in any particular nation. You and I were born to reign in life. That situation that has so far made...

Lessons From A Parable

Day 259 Reading: Luke 14:1 - Luke 16:31 The thoughts that God has for you are too many to be counted. Jesus while speaking asked the disciples if they knew the number of hairs that fall off their head? Jesus told them that God is so interested in the minute details about us that He knows when one hair falls down. God is so detailed about our lives because He is good. When you embrace the goodness of God by understanding that God's love towards us is immeasurable. Whilst reading today's passages my heart was refreshed as I read a very famous parable featuring the prodigal son.   Jesus tells us of two sons and a father. The younger son asked for his inheritance and left home leaving the elder son and his father.  The younger went to a faraway land and wasted his life. He soon was dead broke, deserted by his new found friends and looking for a job. He soon was working for a farmer feeding his pigs. His job must have been so mundane with low pay as he ate the food the...

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than ...
