Bye Bye Stagnation

Day 51

Reading: Deut. 1:1- Deut. 2:37

Welcome to Deuteronomy, the fifth book of the Bible and the last book written by Moses. Almost forty years had passed from when they left Egypt. What should have taken 13 days they took 40 years. An entire generation was wiped out because of unbelief and doubt. They didn't believe God had the best interests of them possessing the land and doubted His ability to give them the land. The evil report of 10 spies magnified giants in their ears that they doubted God's capacity to give them victory in possessing the land. Deal with every area of unbelief and doubt for it is the reason stopping you from entering the land of promise.

God hates stagnation and as we begin studying this book I believe that God is going to move us into the promised land. Say bye bye to the mountain that you have gone around for long. See the land of promise that God has given you. Horeb means the desert or place of solitude. God appeared to Moses on this mountain. The children of Israel had been in this mountainous area for a while. 'Charles, you have been in the wilderness, desert, place of solitude for a long while. It's time to enter the land and possess all that I have designed and destined for you.  You have cried long enough going round in circles while waiting, the time to enter has arrived. Get ready to battle for what I have promised you.'

The book of Deuteronomy is a recount of the journey and a reminder of the testimonies, battles, failings and the Law of God. Moses reminds them that leaders are to be wise, knowledgeable, and understanding. He also reminds them that every leader was to never place status before deciding a case for every judgement belonged to God alone. God's intention is to constantly remind us of His doings in our life. Learn to rehearse God's victories in your life. God who did it for you will do it again for you.

God goes ahead of you and I to search out a place for us to pitch our tents, to show us the way to go, manifesting Himself as a fire at night and cloud by day. The night is usually dark and cold. God manifests as a fire to protect, be a light and generate warmth. In the day God is a shelter from the sun and also provides rain for the ground. Clouds carry rain. Honour God in every season you are in whether in the night or day God is there in control.

One of the saddest scriptures in the bible is found in Deuteronomy 1:45. That the people cried to God and He did not listen to their grievance. I know in today's teachings we are told this can never happen. However, take note that because the Old Testament is a shadow of who God is and what He has in store for mankind. Let the fear of God flood my entire being filling me with an awe of the nature of God. As I read this scripture I paused and said Lord help me to never disappoint You that You turn Your back on me.

While journeying into the promised land don't expect to possess everything you see along the way. The children of Israel passed through Mount Seir and were told not to meddle with the descendants of Esau as God had given them that land. They were also not to disturb the Moabites and the Ammonites as these were descendants of Lot. Don't dispossess your brother or sister what God has given them. Seek to possess only what God has given to you.

You will not possess the promised land carrying what God has said will not enter the promised land. Get ready to enter the place that God has ordained for you. Let all that is of doubt or unbelief die as faith is what will possess the land and not fear.  Begin to possess the land God has given to you and see how a fear and dread will be over the people you are dispossessing.

Memory Verse: Deut. 2:2

Decree:

Father, I rejoice for You are good. I decree that all the days of my life I will testify of Your goodness. I decree that I will possess the place Jehovah has ordained for me. I move to the land of health, wealth, well-being, joy, peace, and abundance. I decree that God is delivering my enemies into my hands. I dispossess every giant sitting on my land in Jesus name. Amen

A better tomorrow

Everyone is hopeful for a better tomorrow. That's why we say "Good morning" at the start of the day. It's an indicator of the hope within that welcomes the dawning of a new day to bring better fortunes our way. God's mercies are new every morning and His compassion does not fail. When faced with adversity it becomes harder to see a better tomorrow, but resilient people are focused on the fact that trouble is only a comma in the sentence of life. At a time where fear has gripped many hearts because of various reasons, it is difficult to remain hopeful. Without hope, you cannot have the faith necessary to live. Faith is the substance of what is hoped for. Faith gives hope tangibility. To be without hope is to open the door of low living. Hopelessness is the start of damnation in life. You and I were born for a reason. We are not just statistics, making up numbers in any particular nation. You and I were born to reign in life. That situation that has so far made...

Lessons From A Parable

Day 259 Reading: Luke 14:1 - Luke 16:31 The thoughts that God has for you are too many to be counted. Jesus while speaking asked the disciples if they knew the number of hairs that fall off their head? Jesus told them that God is so interested in the minute details about us that He knows when one hair falls down. God is so detailed about our lives because He is good. When you embrace the goodness of God by understanding that God's love towards us is immeasurable. Whilst reading today's passages my heart was refreshed as I read a very famous parable featuring the prodigal son.   Jesus tells us of two sons and a father. The younger son asked for his inheritance and left home leaving the elder son and his father.  The younger went to a faraway land and wasted his life. He soon was dead broke, deserted by his new found friends and looking for a job. He soon was working for a farmer feeding his pigs. His job must have been so mundane with low pay as he ate the food the...

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than ...
