Circumcise the Heart

Day 32

Reading: Lev. 12:1- Lev. 14:57

Happy new month. I pray that as this month begins you will soak deeper in the Word of God and that by the knowledge of Him you and I will grow more into the fullness of all that God is.  One of the things that I have realised over time is that God desires we know Him not just as a Miracle Worker but as a Friend. Too many times we relate to God only on the basis of what He can do for us. I have come to the place of realising that this has only made one miss out on the blessings of God. I have purposed to not just be interested in the things that the Hand of God can give but to know the Persona of God.

Every male child would be circumcised on the 8th day. This was in accordance with the covenant. This act was a reminder of the covenant God had made with Abraham. Today's believers don't understand the power of having a heart that is circumcised. Circumcision removes unwanted skin. To ask God to circumcise the heart is to tell God to remove all that is unwanted. Lord, circumcise my heart.

Skin covers the body. It hides the bones, veins, organs of the body. The discussion of leprosy is important as it made me realise that I have a responsibility to walk and live right. Leprosy is a disease where the fingers and toes in severe conditions would drop off. Going to the priest because of a skin condition reveals that God is concerned about our appearance. As a believer, we have a cloth that covers us. The garment of God is to be spotless and clean. We have a responsibility to maintain a lifestyle that is pure. Our garments are to be found clean and without spot. Lord may the Blood of the Lamb speak over me.

God is concerned with anything that keeps us from HIm. He desires to purge sin away and its effects. Notice that the priest would look at not just the person who had a skin condition but also the clothes and house.

The cleansing of one who was called a leper would see the person restored and atonement made for the sin. May the Blood speak over our lives and possessions. Whatever is falling off our lives will encounter the High Priest of God for liberty.

Memory Verse: Lev. 14:28-29

Decree:

Father, I repent of everything that is ungodly that I have attached myself to. I decree that the Blood of the Lamb speaks over me. I command every form of leprosy in my life to cease. I decree that the I am a vessel of God for God alone in Jesus name. Amen

A better tomorrow

Everyone is hopeful for a better tomorrow. That's why we say "Good morning" at the start of the day. It's an indicator of the hope within that welcomes the dawning of a new day to bring better fortunes our way. God's mercies are new every morning and His compassion does not fail. When faced with adversity it becomes harder to see a better tomorrow, but resilient people are focused on the fact that trouble is only a comma in the sentence of life. At a time where fear has gripped many hearts because of various reasons, it is difficult to remain hopeful. Without hope, you cannot have the faith necessary to live. Faith is the substance of what is hoped for. Faith gives hope tangibility. To be without hope is to open the door of low living. Hopelessness is the start of damnation in life. You and I were born for a reason. We are not just statistics, making up numbers in any particular nation. You and I were born to reign in life. That situation that has so far made...

Lessons From A Parable

Day 259 Reading: Luke 14:1 - Luke 16:31 The thoughts that God has for you are too many to be counted. Jesus while speaking asked the disciples if they knew the number of hairs that fall off their head? Jesus told them that God is so interested in the minute details about us that He knows when one hair falls down. God is so detailed about our lives because He is good. When you embrace the goodness of God by understanding that God's love towards us is immeasurable. Whilst reading today's passages my heart was refreshed as I read a very famous parable featuring the prodigal son.   Jesus tells us of two sons and a father. The younger son asked for his inheritance and left home leaving the elder son and his father.  The younger went to a faraway land and wasted his life. He soon was dead broke, deserted by his new found friends and looking for a job. He soon was working for a farmer feeding his pigs. His job must have been so mundane with low pay as he ate the food the...

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than ...
