Fight for the Land

Day 49

Reading: Num. 31:1 - Num. 33:56

God is a God of vengeance. Don't take it upon yourself to be vengeful. God will deal with it. The Midianites had joined Moab in trying to get Balaam to curse the children of Israel -see Numbers 22:3-7. Earlier we saw that the children of Israel committed harlotry by sleeping with the women of Moab. God had instructed Moses to harass the Midianites for seducing the children of Israel to sin and for listening to Balaam.  Balaam dwelt in the land of the Midianites.

When it was time to harass the Midianites the children of Israel were given instructions, however, there were underlying expectations such as kill everyone. They went to war and killed every man. The women were captured. Note that Balaam was killed also. Today we need to remove everything that is a vehicle of the seduction spirit that carries one away from God.

One remarkable thing about the war against the Midianites was that the children of Israel did a head count and discovered that not a single person was lost in the battle. May this be our story today, that we don't lose any believer in any situation of war they faceTheHe men were so moved that they gave an offering. Charles, learn to give an offering of thanksgiving. The men recognised that only God could have protected them from death and their giving was to say thank You, Lord.

Machir the son of Manasseh went over to Gilead and took it. And it was given to him as his inheritance. Jair the brother also went and took certain villages. Reading this in scripture increased my faith that I can go and take the mountain and God will give it to me. Charles, that ministry, business, career, or sector that you are desiring to take, receive the wisdom and strength to prevail and take over.

Learn to note down the journey your walk; otherwise known as a writing a journal. Why is important or a good culture to develop? It helps point out your growth. As you record the journey with God you create a platform to remind God of the testimonies He has wrought in your life.

Memory verse: Num. 31:49

Decree:

Father, I thank You for YOur Mercies. Thank You, Lord, for the plans that You have for me. I decree that I am possessing the land ordained for me. I decree that those sitting on my land your time is up. I cut off every seducing agent from my life. I submit my life to the Most High God and give HIm permission to use me for His glory. I will fight and possess my land. I decree that I am a terror to the enemies of the Kingdom of God in Jesus name. Amen

A better tomorrow

Everyone is hopeful for a better tomorrow. That's why we say "Good morning" at the start of the day. It's an indicator of the hope within that welcomes the dawning of a new day to bring better fortunes our way. God's mercies are new every morning and His compassion does not fail. When faced with adversity it becomes harder to see a better tomorrow, but resilient people are focused on the fact that trouble is only a comma in the sentence of life. At a time where fear has gripped many hearts because of various reasons, it is difficult to remain hopeful. Without hope, you cannot have the faith necessary to live. Faith is the substance of what is hoped for. Faith gives hope tangibility. To be without hope is to open the door of low living. Hopelessness is the start of damnation in life. You and I were born for a reason. We are not just statistics, making up numbers in any particular nation. You and I were born to reign in life. That situation that has so far made...

Lessons From A Parable

Day 259 Reading: Luke 14:1 - Luke 16:31 The thoughts that God has for you are too many to be counted. Jesus while speaking asked the disciples if they knew the number of hairs that fall off their head? Jesus told them that God is so interested in the minute details about us that He knows when one hair falls down. God is so detailed about our lives because He is good. When you embrace the goodness of God by understanding that God's love towards us is immeasurable. Whilst reading today's passages my heart was refreshed as I read a very famous parable featuring the prodigal son.   Jesus tells us of two sons and a father. The younger son asked for his inheritance and left home leaving the elder son and his father.  The younger went to a faraway land and wasted his life. He soon was dead broke, deserted by his new found friends and looking for a job. He soon was working for a farmer feeding his pigs. His job must have been so mundane with low pay as he ate the food the...

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than ...
