Obedience rules over disobedience

Day 37

Reading: Lev. 26:1- Lev. 27:34

Obedience to the commandments of God would result in great blessings. Rain for the land was tied to obedience to God. God is the same yesterday today and will be tomorrow. He didn't change standards with a change in the dispensation. Obedience to His commandments will yield blessings. Lord, help me to strive to walk in total obedience.

Take note of the blessings God will give as a result of obedience to His law:
  • Rain
  • Harvest- a plentiful harvest.
  • Food that will last seasons. No 'brokeness' in between seasons of provision.
  • Eat to satisfaction, not crumbs.
  • Protection and Preservation.
  • Fearless living.
  • Predators would be removed.
  • War will not be known.
  • Enemies will take flight not me being chased by enemies. Listen to many today and the enemy is chasing them not the other way round. Lord change our story!
  • Unbelievable ratios of success, 5 to chase 100, 100 to put 10000 enemies to flight.
  • Uncommon favour
  • Fruitfulness
  • Covenant manifestations as God would confirm it. Imagine getting a deal from a billionaire, you call the person to confirm whether its true. That's how God confirms the covenant.
  • No leftovers because the new will override the old.
  • God would dwell with us and He would not abhor us for our sinful nature.
  • God would walk in our midst.
  • I would be a child of God. I would be identified with God.
  • Freedom, for God, has brought me out to destroy the bands of slavery.
Disobedience to God would result in many evils.
  • Terror would be their master.
  • Disease
  • Delay in vision resulting in fever.
  • Sorrow of heart
  • Enemies will take the harvest.
  • God would fight against them.
  • Enemies would reign over them
  • Fear led life. Flee when no one is pursuing you.
  • 7 times more punishment if a change is not evidenced as soon as expected and seven times more plagues than what they saw in Egypt.
  • God would humble them. Better to humble oneself than for God to humble one.
  • Closed heavens and no harvests.
  • Work with no results.
  • Wild predators would roam freely killing anyone and anything.
  • Without protection, no one would be free to transact or go anywhere.
  • War.
  • Pestilence.
  • Famine and Drought.
  • Starvation
  • Scattered and pursued by the enemies.
  • Faintness in hearts that a leaf will trouble our lives.
  • Reduction in population and posterity.
God is a God of mercy. He declares that if His people repent and turn back to Him, He would remember the covenant of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and gather His people together. God does not break His covenant. He would remember the land and the people if the people repented and humbled themselves acknowledging their sin.

The tithe is the Lord's not a man and only to be used as directed by God. The book of Leviticus ends with instructions on the tithe. May we always remember that we belong to God.

Memory Verse: Lev. 26:44

Decree:

Father, thank You for Your mercy. Your covenant You never forget. Thank You, Lord. I repent of every disobedience I have allowed in my life. I come before You and plead for the Blood to speak mercy over all. I will walk uprightly before you all the days of my life. I decree the Covenant of God comes alive and I am restored to the land of promise. I decree that I am a tither. I give joyfully to the Lord in Jesus name. Amen

A better tomorrow

Everyone is hopeful for a better tomorrow. That's why we say "Good morning" at the start of the day. It's an indicator of the hope within that welcomes the dawning of a new day to bring better fortunes our way. God's mercies are new every morning and His compassion does not fail. When faced with adversity it becomes harder to see a better tomorrow, but resilient people are focused on the fact that trouble is only a comma in the sentence of life. At a time where fear has gripped many hearts because of various reasons, it is difficult to remain hopeful. Without hope, you cannot have the faith necessary to live. Faith is the substance of what is hoped for. Faith gives hope tangibility. To be without hope is to open the door of low living. Hopelessness is the start of damnation in life. You and I were born for a reason. We are not just statistics, making up numbers in any particular nation. You and I were born to reign in life. That situation that has so far made...

Lessons From A Parable

Day 259 Reading: Luke 14:1 - Luke 16:31 The thoughts that God has for you are too many to be counted. Jesus while speaking asked the disciples if they knew the number of hairs that fall off their head? Jesus told them that God is so interested in the minute details about us that He knows when one hair falls down. God is so detailed about our lives because He is good. When you embrace the goodness of God by understanding that God's love towards us is immeasurable. Whilst reading today's passages my heart was refreshed as I read a very famous parable featuring the prodigal son.   Jesus tells us of two sons and a father. The younger son asked for his inheritance and left home leaving the elder son and his father.  The younger went to a faraway land and wasted his life. He soon was dead broke, deserted by his new found friends and looking for a job. He soon was working for a farmer feeding his pigs. His job must have been so mundane with low pay as he ate the food the...

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than ...
