Disassociate from Deceivers

Day 55

Reading: Deut. 12:1- Deut. 15:23

God has a great plan for you and I. His desire is that we reign in life. To reign together with God is only possible when we walk wholeheartedly with Him. Destroy altars of the land that are built to others gods. Set up the altar of God in the land. Every altar of an idol pollutes the land. Don't worship using the altars of idols as they are not dedicated to God. Worship God at the place where His altar id erected. Corporate worship was to be done at the place dedicated to God.

God required of the children of Israel to never forsake the Levite. The Levites were not given an inheritance and the Lord expected that they would be looked after by the community. Don't forsake those who serve God.

Even in the days of the Covenant of Moses, the people were told of false prophets who would seek to lead the people astray. The false prophet or preacher would be put to death for falsehood. This brought reverence to the office of the prophet and those who proclaimed the name of God. This is something we lack today because too many false prophets have hurt the children of God. The Law was not merciful to anyone who would try to deceive you from following Jehovah. Even close family members were not to be pitied if they secretly tried to entice you from serving God. If a city partook of acts that were an abomination to God the city would be burned to the ground and never rebuilt.

God is interested in the diet we eat. The instruction on the clean and unclean foods shows that we need to be careful of what we partake. Do you know that originally mankind was not to eat meat? God didn't instruct Adam and Eve to eat meat- Genesis 1:29. Its only after the flood that God introduced meat to the conversation of what we can eat- Genensis 9:3-4. I am not advocating for a vegan diet. That's a personal choice. I have over the last year come to understand that diet needs to be looked at from God's point of view. Let God speak to you about your diet and you will see health benefits.

The tithe belongs to God. Tithing is not giving to God. You don't give back what belongs to the owner, you return it. The Tithe belongs to God. Giving begins after on one has brought the tithe.  Every 7 years debts would be cancelled. A foreigner didn't enjoy this benefit however the children of God would have debts cancelled. God desires that His children be lenders and not borrowers of money. God expects that His children be a generous people. The believer is expected to be generous not closing their hand to those who don't have anything. When giving in generosity the believer is not to be motivated by anything except the love of God. Generosity leads to abundance.

Memory verse: Deut. 15:7

Decree:

Lord, thank You for being ever faithful in all things. I decree that I am a tither and the blessings of a tither are manifesting in me. I decree that I am a generous giver. My hand is used to minister to those who lack. I decree that I worship only God. I disassociate myself from every person who desires to entice me away from serving Yahweh. I will live a yielded fruitful life to the glory of God. I decree that my body brings glory to God in Jesus name. Amen.

A better tomorrow

Everyone is hopeful for a better tomorrow. That's why we say "Good morning" at the start of the day. It's an indicator of the hope within that welcomes the dawning of a new day to bring better fortunes our way. God's mercies are new every morning and His compassion does not fail. When faced with adversity it becomes harder to see a better tomorrow, but resilient people are focused on the fact that trouble is only a comma in the sentence of life. At a time where fear has gripped many hearts because of various reasons, it is difficult to remain hopeful. Without hope, you cannot have the faith necessary to live. Faith is the substance of what is hoped for. Faith gives hope tangibility. To be without hope is to open the door of low living. Hopelessness is the start of damnation in life. You and I were born for a reason. We are not just statistics, making up numbers in any particular nation. You and I were born to reign in life. That situation that has so far made...

Lessons From A Parable

Day 259 Reading: Luke 14:1 - Luke 16:31 The thoughts that God has for you are too many to be counted. Jesus while speaking asked the disciples if they knew the number of hairs that fall off their head? Jesus told them that God is so interested in the minute details about us that He knows when one hair falls down. God is so detailed about our lives because He is good. When you embrace the goodness of God by understanding that God's love towards us is immeasurable. Whilst reading today's passages my heart was refreshed as I read a very famous parable featuring the prodigal son.   Jesus tells us of two sons and a father. The younger son asked for his inheritance and left home leaving the elder son and his father.  The younger went to a faraway land and wasted his life. He soon was dead broke, deserted by his new found friends and looking for a job. He soon was working for a farmer feeding his pigs. His job must have been so mundane with low pay as he ate the food the...

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than ...
