Inner Conversations

Day 252

Reading: Mark 5:1 - Mark 9:50

What are you thinking right now? Do you know that your mind is always having conversations? Actually, science has enabled us to learn that we talk with ourselves mostly. We may not verbalise all the conversations we have internally, however, it's important to understand the implications of what is happening internally. Science has discovered that up to 90% of medical ailments are rooted in our thinking. Truly as Solomon said, as a person thinks so are they Proverbs 23:7. It's not how you talk or walk but how you think that affects who you are.

Our thoughts are important to God not just ourselves. Our thoughts have a big say in our lives. Jesus said that we speak out of the abundance of our hearts, that is we speak aloud from the inner conversations that condition our being Matthew 12:34-35. Jeremiah declared that God gives us the fruit of our thoughts Jeremiah 6:19. Your life is the fruit of your thoughts. Your life is not the sum total of what happens outside you; what you think determines where your life is going. Your thoughts are a compass of where your life is going. Do you know that science says we repeat our thoughts? You will think 90% of the thoughts you had today tomorrow? What am I thinking is a very important question to self!

The woman with the issue of blood had dealt with an issue for 12 years. In accordance with the Law of Moses, she was an outcast. Mark tells us that she spent all her money seeking a cure. I can imagine the lady flying to India, USA, Europe, China all in search of a cure. Defeated and perplexed am sure she hears of Jesus. She didn't have a pity party. She didn't wallow in depression about her state. She didn't allow the circumstances that she had faced to fill her with a poor perception of possibilities that could come her way. Instead, when heard about Jesus she said within herself that if she touched the hem of his garment she would be made whole. What are you saying to yourself about that situation whilst praying about it? Are you praying for a miracle yet thinking its impossible? God cannot override your thoughts.

When she touched Jesus she got healed. May I suggest to you that you need to align your thoughts with your actions and desires. Isaiah declared that God's thoughts are higher than our thoughts and consequently His ways are higher than our ways Isaiah 55:10-11. Our thoughts reveal our faith. When she touched Jesus she was healed instantly. Notice that when she touched Jesus, He asks who touched Him as her touch was different from the mob surrounding Him. One lesson to learn here is to be careful that one doesn't become a spectator of the supernatural because of familiarity. The disciples couldn't understand why Jesus was asking who touched me? Yet this lady's thoughts led to action that resulted in a miracle.

When you think right, boldness will help you overcome. The lady had to break the law of Moses to touch Jesus, however, she knew that Jesus was more than able to heal her condition. When you think faith thoughts they open the miraculous towards you. Let your mind be filled with possibilities of God doing all things for you. Flood your mind with thoughts that breed joy, health, peace, comfort and love. Stop entertaining thoughts of hatred and disease. Wire your mind to think good, great, and glorious thoughts. Feed your mind with God's promises to align your thoughts aright.

Memory Verse: Mark 6:34

Decree:

Mark 8:38
For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.” (italics mine)

A better tomorrow

Everyone is hopeful for a better tomorrow. That's why we say "Good morning" at the start of the day. It's an indicator of the hope within that welcomes the dawning of a new day to bring better fortunes our way. God's mercies are new every morning and His compassion does not fail. When faced with adversity it becomes harder to see a better tomorrow, but resilient people are focused on the fact that trouble is only a comma in the sentence of life. At a time where fear has gripped many hearts because of various reasons, it is difficult to remain hopeful. Without hope, you cannot have the faith necessary to live. Faith is the substance of what is hoped for. Faith gives hope tangibility. To be without hope is to open the door of low living. Hopelessness is the start of damnation in life. You and I were born for a reason. We are not just statistics, making up numbers in any particular nation. You and I were born to reign in life. That situation that has so far made...

Lessons From A Parable

Day 259 Reading: Luke 14:1 - Luke 16:31 The thoughts that God has for you are too many to be counted. Jesus while speaking asked the disciples if they knew the number of hairs that fall off their head? Jesus told them that God is so interested in the minute details about us that He knows when one hair falls down. God is so detailed about our lives because He is good. When you embrace the goodness of God by understanding that God's love towards us is immeasurable. Whilst reading today's passages my heart was refreshed as I read a very famous parable featuring the prodigal son.   Jesus tells us of two sons and a father. The younger son asked for his inheritance and left home leaving the elder son and his father.  The younger went to a faraway land and wasted his life. He soon was dead broke, deserted by his new found friends and looking for a job. He soon was working for a farmer feeding his pigs. His job must have been so mundane with low pay as he ate the food the...

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than ...
